About The Job
You will be responsible for managing and delivering medium to high complexity projects with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction. Contribute to project sales support, conduct comprehensive specification reviews, and uphold stringent quality control standards. Participate in customer meetings to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and effectively translated into engineering deliverables. Collaborate closely with process and machine engineering teams, project management, and procurement to ensure seamless project execution and effective supplier interactions. Assist in developing efficient automation standards and guidelines within the BU Food Systems, ensuring alignment, standardization, and quality across applications.
The role involves occasional travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning support, service assistance, and customer training.
Job Description
Design, develop, and implement control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems for process plants.
Carry out automation engineering for complete process plants, focusing on precise specifications and calculations.
Develop hardware and software requirements for control panels, along with essential technical documentation, functional design specifications (FDS), and operation and maintenance manuals (O&M Manuals).
Collaborate with sub-suppliers and provide hotline support to facilitate a successful plant startup.
Optimize existing processes for efficiency and reliability in our control and automation systems.
Plan & schedule the project plant /module Control systems related activities as per overall project plans.
Responsible for PLC SCADA/HMI software design, development and commissioning.
Writing and testing PLC programs for complex process plants /modules using Siemens TIA portal / Rockwell Factory talk.
Assist with designing the control & instrumentation network using standard communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, IO Link etc.
Specification of request for quotes for automation systems (PLC and HMI) based on input from Process and electrical teams.
Support start-up, commissioning and troubleshooting either at site or remotely.
Responsible for handling of several small to midsize software projects at the same time in accordance with time schedule and budget established by the project managers.
Review of vendor’s control system proposal, technical bid evaluation for various supplies.
Participate in Vendor software testing such as Software FAT, SAT
Understanding and assistance in design, site support and development for following areas:
- Control room layout
- PLC Panel GA, Wiring, BOM drawing
- Panel testing, Remote commissioning
Participate in proposal, procurement and sales work as & when required
Managing documentation, including design specifications, test/verification procedures, operating instructions, and software documentation.
Attend meetings and technical discussions with customer, consultants and external vendors.
What You Know
Bachelors or master’s in electrical /Instrumentation /Electronics/Automation Engineering
Experience in Process Automation projects preferably in Edible oil refineries or oleo-chemical plants.
Knowledge of using Siemens PLC& SCADA (Tia Portal & WinCC).
Have knowledge and experience in interpreting and preparing FDS/Sequence flows in S88 standard.
Electrical knowledge on MCC panels & motor starters
Experience dealing with process instrument.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Proven experience (min. 8 to 10 years) in automation and control engineering.
Willingness to travel (At least 50% travelling).
Experience of working abroad and travelling
