The position / About the Job:
In this job the Bid Engineer would be responsible for:


Key Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Receives inquiries from potential and current customers, reviewing relevant inquiry documents and specifications. Understand customer drivers to make the right proposals.
  • Evaluate Size and pricing of air coolers using HTRI, Alfa Laval and proprietary software to meet the specific needs of potential customers.
  • Optimizes designs through knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
  • Specification review of small to medium complex customers and inferring the impacts on lead time and pricing. This involves multiple stakeholders' effective interactions to secure positive outcomes enabling customer compliance. Supported by senior BID engineers.
  • Ensure competitive, accurate and timely formulation of quotation documents, in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings with customers and consultants, when required.
  • Proactive risk assessment. Participate in Project Sales Plan (PSP) review, when required.
  • Review of customer contract. Identify, understand and coordinate potential risks happening on the execution phase and endeavor to eliminate or mitigate them in bid stage.
  • Assist sales by responding to technical inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and decisions.
  • Identify areas for improvement to increase sales efficiency and competitiveness. Actively consulting Customer, Sales and Operations colleagues, also via lesson learnt.
  • Support and interact with sales companies globally.
  • Support improvements in bid process, bid templates.
  • Follows in generał company and safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and
    positively

Who you are?
As a person, you are customer oriented, a team player, outgoing, proactive with a willingness to learn & collaborate with associated stakeholders. You are structured in your approach & comfortable with working on multiple overlapping assignments. You have a discerning eye for the details as well as able to have a holistic view of the situation.

Your background / skillset
Engineering degree (mechanical or chemical preferred) having at least 5-8 years of experience in the field of quotation preparation or project management

  • Thorough knowledge of fluids and heat transfer
  • Experience working with heat exchangers or pressure vessels.
  • Knowledge of API, ASME, PED, and other pressure vessel codes a plus
  • Experience with engineering calculation software.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English
