• The purpose of this job is to Develop and Implement industry-specific strategies, a business plan for BU FHT.
• Responsible for the of overall business of Heat Exchangers for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) market.
• Drive and grow business of Heat Exchangers through field sales in API industries in India
• Provide seamless customer experience during all phases of business as face of Alfa Laval.

The position / About the Job:

In this job the Business Manager – API – Food Transfer would be responsible for:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Nurture, maintain and develop IPA (Industry Process Application) knowhow for API market for heat exchangers.
• Build, nurture and maintain strong relationship with customers in Active Pharmaceuticals Industry.
• Business planning, forecasting and achievement of objectives, key performance indicators and revenue forecasts.
• Continuously generate leads and business opportunities through proactive work in product promotion, customer events, seminars, etc.
• Convert inquiries into order by selecting/configurating product/solutions by actively working with the customers and field sales team, 
• Gathering and providing market intelligence on Industry, competition, price level by effective networking and other means and share it with sales teams to develop competitive business strategies.
• Tackle and fight competition; negotiate and close the requirement/contracts along with sales team
• Work closely with Engineering of supply team in pre-sales and post sales activities. 
• Develop the Industry, Application, and product knowledge of sales team by trainings.
• Manage the claim and deliver superior customer experience.
• Use CRM tools and in a consistent and qualitative way to support the sales process and take decisions
• Able to design the condensers for Pharma reactors, condensers and reboilers for Distillation column and other heat exchanger required in Pharma Industry.

What you can be?

Key competencies required as Industry manager:

• Thorough Heat transfer knowledge including Evaporation and Condensation.
• Knowledge about Cleaning Validation, US FDA, and cGMP Norms in the API industry will have added advantage.
• Good decision and strategizing ability
• Customer relationship management and excellent negotiating skills.
• Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industry process knowledge
• To be able to close contracts by innovatively providing options/solutions.
• Analytical ability
• Financial acumen
• Networking and influencing ability
• Immense travelling ability.

Education:

• B.E., B. Tech Chemical/mechanical, from reputed institute. Degree/diploma in management (Marketing or sales) would be an added advantage.

Experience / Knowledge

• 5 to 10 years of overall functional experience in API pharmaceutical industry, either in projects or production processes or process design and engineering. 
• Suitable Experience in capital equipment technical sales/proposals/ engineering or projects for plant/equipment sales to the Pharmaceutical Industry.
