About the job:
As a Fiberglass Finishing Associate, you will assist the production process in constructing fiberglass materials used in building final products. The Fiberglass Layup Laminator will be involved in fiberglass material prep work, resin spray, and manual paint rolling, which requires the associate to refer to numerous blueprints.
As part of the team, you will:
Effectively and efficiently examine fiberglass finish for defects and repairs as necessary.
Drill, patch and repaint as necessary.
Smooths surfaces with sandpaper and buffs finish.
Mixes repair materials as required.
Uses power drill, grinder, buffer and spray gun.
Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
What you know:
You have a High School diploma or GED, and:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Previous exposure or knowledge of mechanical processes and/or machines
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Must possess ability to lift 12-15 pounds, oftentimes with arms extended over head for extended periods of time (5-6 hours daily)
Individual will be required to lift certain materials weighing under 50lbs to different areas of the plant. An overhead crane will be used for items over 50lbs.
Individual will be climbing ladders, bending, stretching, squatting and using many mechanic type of tools. Must be agile and able to climb easily in and out of fiberglass boats and boat parts.
Individual will be in a heavy manufacturing environment. It will be quite loud in areas and several PPE is required.
Will be exposed to dust, gelcoat, resin, MEK, acetone, buffing compounds and various patching materials.
