About the job

Experienced Controller with an audit background

  • Søborg
  • Full time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About The Job

As an experienced Controller with an audit background, you will be part of a dynamic and skilled finance team, supporting financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance processes, while acting in the dynamic field between finance, IT and business. You will engage in financial reporting and have a central role in maintaining and improving our financial system landscape, ensuring alignment with global standards. With a strong understanding of financial reporting, IT ecosystems and internal controls, you will contribute to both daily operations and long-term transformation initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Taking part in financial reporting and forecasting activities, including real estate controlling and financial follow-up on larger investments.

  • Supporting sustainability reporting by coordinating local data for CSRD in collaboration with HSE/Quality and driving improvements in sustainability-related processes.

  • Ensuring local compliance activities within internal controls, authorization guidelines, system access rights, and engage with internal and external audits together with the other controllers.

  • Engage in local activities within central IT tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Medius, Solver, BI tools)

  • Acting as a contributor to finance and IT transformation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and tools.

  • Engaging in local tax-related tasks, such as transfer pricing documentation or VAT questions

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Søborg office in Copenhagen, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 5 - 10 days per year.

What You Know

You bring a solid financial background combined with a structured and analytical mindset. With hands-on experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance, you understand how to navigate complex business environments and contribute to continuous improvement through systems and processes.

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • A degree in Auditing, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar.

  • A background from an audit company and an understanding of how legal requirements and internal controls impact financial reporting and IT systems

  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and internal control frameworks.

  • Understanding of business processes in a global company and know how to structure local compliance based on global standards (e.g. segregation of duties, internal controls, risk assessments).

  • Strong IT mindset and are confident working with digital financial tools and systems.

  • Fluency in Danish and English, both spoken and written.

About You

You are a self-driven and business-oriented professional who thrives in cross-functional environments. With a proactive mindset, you take ownership and view change as an opportunity to drive improvements. As Alfa Laval undergoes a global Finance Transformation, you bring the adaptability and resilience needed to navigate evolving systems and processes.

You stay structured and quality-focused, even when handling multiple priorities. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo, and you approach compliance work with confidence, clear communication, and a strong focus on solutions.
