Shaping the Future of Modular Product Innovation

As a Product Architect, you will play a pivotal cross‑functional role within our Thermal Solutions Business Unit. You are responsible for creating, maintaining, and continuously improving the product architecture for an entire Product Class. You ensure that the architecture is fit for purpose across the full value chain—from R&D to Service and Supply Chain—and aligned with corporate guidelines and long‑term product strategy.

You will own and govern the product architecture within Thermal Solutions, including:

  • Product Class structure: Product Classes, Product Types, Nodes, Node structures, Modules, Module Variants, and Module Sets

  • Feature domains for modules

  • Modular strategy documentation

You will work closely with PLM and Configuration/Module Design Engineers, Sales Tool Engineers, BU Configuration Officers, BU Configurator Owners, BU PLM Business Officers, Product Managers, and stakeholders across the entire value chain.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop product architectures for new Product Classes.

  • Review and approve changes to existing product architectures.

  • Assess the impact of product architecture and modularization across R&D, Sales, Operations, Service, and Supply Chain.

  • Define and document module levels in alignment with product strategy.

  • Chair the cross‑functional Product Architecture Governance Board.

  • Optimize product architecture complexity versus cost.

  • Ensure alignment between product architecture, the company’s product roadmap, and market needs.

Why this role matters

This position is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys working at the intersection of technology, strategy, and business

  • Thrives in cross‑functional environments

  • Wants to shape the future product portfolio

  • Has a passion for modular design and structured product development

Your skills

  • Strong overall technical product understanding, including how sub‑assemblies interact and depend on each other to enable optimal modularization.

  • Ability to translate customer requirements into a future‑state product architecture in collaboration with Product Management.

  • Understanding of information models and product modularization concepts.

  • Knowledge of PLM principles.

  • Ability to drive decisions and influence engineering teams.

  • A customer‑first mindset focused on user experience and business impact.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, rapid prototyping, and continuous integration/deployment.

What’s in it for you?

A challenging position in an international, open, and friendly environment where we help each other grow. You value being part of a larger organization that develops important solutions, while occasionally having the opportunity to be more creative.
