About The Job

The Business Manager drives growth of the membrane portfolio across components, services, and system solutions in food and pharma industries by combining strong commercial execution. In the short term, the focus is on delivering sales impact through active sales support, expansion of component and service business, and execution of business plans with local sales companies while building alignment across regions. Longer term, the role scales a sustainable global membrane business by strengthening market positioning, developing new channels, and accelerating portfolio adoption in competitive markets, balancing growth with profitable execution. Your tasks will be:

  • Support local sales companies with commercial and technical expertise for membrane components, services, and system solutions

  • Engage in customer meetings and opportunity reviews to support solution definition, pricing, and deal closing

  • Own and execute business plans for assigned markets, applications, or responsibility areas

  • Identify growth opportunities for services business and develop new channel partners for component business.

  • Act as the market interface, translating customer and market needs into inputs for Product Management, R&D, and the Test Centre

  • Contribute to pricing strategy,

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Copenhagen office, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 30 – 40 days per year.

What You Know

You combine technical depth with commercial execution to turn membrane solutions into business results. You are comfortable owning opportunities, influencing stakeholders, and driving growth across markets and organizations.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field

  • 5–10 years in sales, technical sales, or business development within industrial/process technologies (food/pharma preferred)

  • Strongly preferred: Technical knowledge of spiral wound membrane technologies (RO, NF, UF, MF)

  • Commercial and sales expertise including pricing and, commercial support

  • Strategic mindset with experience in business planning and channel development

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally

  • Excellent communication, customer engagement, and influencing skills

  • Experience working with global customers and multicultural teams
