Alfa Laval has been present in India since 1937. It is part of the Alfa Laval Group headquartered out of Lund, Sweden. The India Corporate Office is in Pune, Maharashtra.

The factories located in Maharashtra manufactures and supplies key components and systems in Separation, Heat Transfer, and Flow technology.

The company's products and solutions are omnipresent in over 25 multiple Indian industries including food processing, dairy, edible oil processing, sugar production, pharmaceutical & biotechnology, brewery, distillery, starch, pulp and paper, oil & gas, marine and energy. Alfa Laval caters to many national and international clients based across India and globally.

We are now looking for an inspirational leader to spearhead our Satara Site, which hosts Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers and Welded Heat Exchangers factories.

Role Description

Alfa Laval India has a strong legacy of engineering excellence, innovation, and customer-first approach across its Indian operations. With a strong presence in India for several decades, Alfa Laval operates multiple manufacturing and service facilities across the country, delivering sustainable solutions that make a difference in industries like energy, food, water, and marine. The Satara facility is a strategic manufacturing hub for both GPHE (Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers) and WHE (Welded Heat Exchangers) product lines, serving both local and global markets. The Satara factory, one of our key manufacturing hubs, supports global deliveries of GPHE and WHE (Welded Heat Exchangers) and plays a pivotal role in driving our sustainable growth journey.

As Factory Manager GPHE GCC (Global Core Components), you will lead the operations of Our Plate production in the Satara manufacturing site. This role provides the opportunity to lead a large-scale operation with a high impact as part of the global supply chain within GCC. GCC Satara is part of a global organization with plate production in Sweden and China as well. This includes full ownership of supply chain, safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance, along with continuous improvement initiatives. Leader will play a critical role in strengthening the factory's capabilities and supporting Alfa Laval India’s ambitious growth goals.

The Leader will be part of the India Operations Leadership Team and the Global Core Component Team, working closely with local and international stakeholders.

Team

  • Directly managing 5 key leaders:
  • Managers for supply chain and production
  • Indirectly responsible for 60+ team members at the Satara GCC factory

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of zero harm by driving people safety, process discipline, and product quality—while delivering on-time, cost-effective manufacturing outcomes that meet global standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership to a 60+ member factory workforce, including 7 direct reports, by fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous development.
  •  Have a full end-to-end supply chain responsibility and accountability for the factory’s performance and development.
  • Embed a performance-focused culture by deploying Lean, ALPS, TPM, and Six Sigma principles to achieve year-on-year improvements in productivity, quality, and resource efficiency.
  • Translate Alfa Laval’s global values, operational policies, and compliance frameworks into local execution while maintaining cultural alignment and integrity.
  • Own key performance metrics—such as productivity, inventory turns, OTD (on-time delivery), and cost optimization—to drive business results and stakeholder confidence.
  • Oversee the full supply chain lifecycle, including strategic procurement, inventory management, and warehouse optimization to enable agility, quality, and cost leadership.
  • Build and sustain a reliable, compliant, and ethical local supplier base that supports long-term business scalability and aligns with Alfa Laval’s sourcing vision.
  • Act as an enabler for New Product Introductions (NPI) by collaborating closely with R&D, sales, and global support functions—ensuring operational readiness and seamless integration.
  • Maintain strong and proactive industrial relations by engaging constructively with employee unions, promoting transparent communication, and supporting a healthy workplace culture.

To contribute effectively to our business, you will require these essential skills

  • Master’s degree in engineering, or equal experience, preferably Mechanical or Production, providing a strong technical and operational foundation for strategic decision-making.
  • Over a decade of progressive leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments, ideally within multinational or matrix organizations, with a demonstrated ability to manage scale, complexity, and global interfaces.
  • Deep expertise in driving Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma initiatives to enhance operational agility, performance, process discipline, and long-term cost competitiveness.
  • Proven capability in managing both standardized high-volume production and customized project-based manufacturing, ensuring delivery excellence across diverse product portfolios.
  • Strong command over factory financials, including standard product costing, project-based costing, and budgetary control—enabling data-driven decisions and sustainable cost leadership.
  • Known for leading organizational change through a collaborative and empowering leadership style that fosters innovation, accountability, and cultural alignment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of influencing and aligning cross-functional teams across geographies and cultural contexts.
  • Prior experience working with international teams and global supply chains, with the ability to translate global priorities into effective local execution.
  • In order to succeed and ensure long term stability not only in GCC Satara but the whole site Business acumen and leadership is paramount for this role.
  • The role as FM requires full understanding of the necessity to be pragmatic with a broad view on the bigger picture. Bring customers in focus. Being transparent and not hiding problems. Tell it as it is with facts and not feelings.
  • Leadership in this role is linked to people development. This can be achieved by standing behind and let people shine. And stand in front in difficult situations. Also as part of site management acting in mature and sensible manner.

  • Ongoing relationship management with employee unions to ensure industrial harmony and alignment
