About the job

Working within Ocean Division in the Nordic Sales Company, as an Inside Sales Account Manager you will play a key role in promoting and selling Alfa Laval products and services to customers across the Nordic maritime market. You will be one of the first points of contact for customers, supporting their needs with speed, accuracy, and a proactive commercial mindset.

You will manage customer relationships primarily through digital and remote channels, while collaborating closely with colleagues across sales, service, and technical support functions. With a strong understanding of the maritime customer landscape, you will help drive customer satisfaction, growth, and efficient sales execution across the region.

The successful candidate should be located in Sandvika Norway.

Due to the wide range of products and solutions that are offered by Alfa Laval, the exact nature of the tasks within the role will be varied:

  • Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval products and services to customers in the maritime industry.

  • Proactively manage and develop a portfolio of customers across the Nordic region, building strong relationships through digital engagement and remote sales activities.

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for customers, ensuring timely follow-up on requests, quotations, and opportunities.

  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities within the installed base and customer portfolio, supporting growth and customer retention.

  • Prepare quotations, follow up on commercial proposals, and drive opportunities through to closure in a structured and efficient way.

  • Collaborate closely with field sales, service teams, and technical support to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.

  • Use CRM and other digital tools actively to manage customer data, sales activities, pipeline visibility, and reporting.

  • Stay informed about customer needs, market developments, and competitor activities within the Nordic maritime market.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in ways of working, customer engagement, and digital sales excellence.

  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

Who are you

You are a customer-focused and proactive sales professional with a passion for the maritime industry and a strong ability to build relationships through digital and remote channels. You are confident managing a broad portfolio of customers and opportunities, while ensuring a high level of responsiveness, accuracy, and commercial drive.

You combine strong communication skills with a structured and data-driven approach, enabling you to identify customer needs, spot opportunities, and create value in every interaction. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across teams and borders, and using digital tools to improve both your own performance and the customer experience.

It is in your nature to be organised, service-minded, and solution oriented. You are comfortable handling multiple priorities and stakeholders, and you bring a positive mindset that contributes to a high-performing and inclusive team culture.

First and foremost, you are a team player with a curious and agile mind. You are proudly environmentally aware and have a sustainable approach in reducing your personal and business impact on the environment.

What you know

To succeed in this position, you bring:

  • Experience in sales, from within the maritime industry or with technical products and services relevant to marine customers.

  • Commercial understanding and the ability to identify customer needs and translate them into value-adding solutions.

  • A strong customer focus and the ability to build trust and relationships through phone, email, virtual meetings, and other digital channels.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail.

  • A proactive and self-driven mindset, with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues across functions and countries.

  • Strong communication skills in English and at least one Nordic language.

  • High digital competence, including experience with CRM systems, Microsoft Office tools, and communication and collaboration platforms.

  • Knowledge of the Maritime market in the Nordics is considered a strong advantage.
