About the job:
We supply equipment and systems to various industries, including food, wastewater, mining, oil, chemicals, etc. Our projects center on the decanter product line, and the scope complexity ranges from simple decanters with automation systems to sophisticated process systems. The mechanical project engineer will be responsible for system engineering and will be involved in all project phases. You will be part of a project team and, together with the project manager, will be responsible for delivering the scope on time and within budget. Key tasks and responsibilities:
Create process solutions with equipment, piping and skid designs - we use Inventor.
Create and review documentation for detailed engineering and fabrication.
Standardization through creation of 3D design templates for faster project execution.
FEM analysis, we use ANSYS/Nastran.
Create P&ID in AutoCAD.
Select project specific piping, flanges, valves etc.
Review technical specifications from customers and develop technical deviation lists.
Assist procurement department with sourcing of the correct components.
Creating and maintaining parts numbers.
Develop project documentation, including procedures, datasheets, test records, etc.
Conducting FAT of decanters and process modules.
The position is based in our office in Copenhagen. At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. We expect a travel commitment of approximately 20 – 25 days per year.
What you know
You hold a degree in mechanical engineering and have 5–10 years of experience in project execution preferable within the wastewater, fluid handling, or a related processing industry.
Solid experience with Inventor skeleton modeling, iLogic, frame generator and sheet metal will be an advantage.
Knowledge about FEM analysis will be a clear advantage.
You possess a strong understanding of detailed engineering, piping, and P&ID.
Review of documentation has been mandatory part of your work, including evaluation of 3D fit, tolerances, welding, surface roughness etc.
Your background also includes driving standardization, and you are familiar with GMP, GEP, CE, and ATEX requirements.
