About the job
Alfa Laval continuously develops solutions to be the #1 partner in nuclear power. Project Order Bid Hub is looking for a Nuclear Bid Engineer to enable stable bid processes for our customers in the nuclear industry. The team belongs to the central organization, Business Unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers in the Energy Division of Alfa Laval Lund and is responsible for managing the bidding stage of complex projects with high added value.
In this job, you will play a crucial role in adapting the offering to the needs of the customer and be part of a cross-functional team with unique expertise in manufacturing equipment for nuclear power industry. In your role, you will be the driving force to secure technical compliance during the bid, analyzing customer technical specifications and providing feedback in terms of clarification list translating customer demands into specific extras /features of the heat exchangers. You will be communicating with internal experts as well as customers in different technical clarification meetings and salespeople globally.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Analyze customer technical specifications and prepare clarification/deviation lists with focus on competitiveness and fulfillment of customer needs and expectations
Provide and optimize cost and lead time of special components using different tools and systems
Take active role in clarification meetings that may include the customer
Cooperate with central functions and experts as well as salespeople in the local sales
Actively participate in cross-functional projects and strategic activities towards our nuclear customers
Quote of spare parts for Gasketed Plate Exchangers in our installed base
The position is based in Lund, Sweden. A limited amount of travelling will be required. You will report to the Bid Hub manager.
Who you are
As a person you are curious, with a focus on quality and sense for details. You understand the customer behavior and have experience in working with demanding customers. You are a good communicator who knows how to work across different functions and organizations and how to build networks required to complete work tasks. Furthermore, you are flexible to keep right balance working autonomously and giving support to the team as well as balancing short and long-term activities.
What you know
You have a master’s degree in engineering, preferably in the areas of nuclear. You have solid experience in manufacturing and understand relevant nuclear codes, pressure vessel codes and quality systems and standards (ISO / EN, ASTM / ASME / PED). You’re fluent in written and verbal English.
