Who You Are  

You have Trade relevant Mechanical or Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering qualifications, with proven, hands-on, post qualification experience, assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components. 

You are an individual that has excellent technical report writing skills and capacity to conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and record findings in a clear concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner. You must be a self-driven person with strong business acumen taking full accountability for the job role and responsibilities.

You are a great communicator, able to participate in high level technical discussions with the client, Alfa Laval Technical Desk, Project Managers and Field Service Management and advise logical and technical solutions which ensures superior customer experience.

Must be willing to travel and stay at customer locations on short notice with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported. You have a good level of physical fitness, and you must have the digital mindset and skills to work with the business tools and help drive our company’s transformational journey. 

About the Job  

Your duties will include but not limited to: 

• Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Decanter centrifuge & High-speed separators. 
• Involved in complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve electrical engineering challenges.
• Participate in commissioning kickoff meetings with the projects team to gain understanding of project deliverables and agreement on project expectations.
• Participate in pre commissioning site visits which includes box opening inspection of newly supplied equipment against delivery notes, verification of P&ID matching customer installation, provide detailed visit report including punch items with recommended actions from stakeholders.
• Perform commissioning of Alfa Laval equipment on site which includes Site Acceptance Test on electrical control panel, instrumentation & automation and prepare test reports, conduct process trials and optimization, prepare detailed technical commissioning report and handover documentation signed by customer.

• A combination of regional, international, interstate, and local metro work. 

• Engage in service center jobs for repair activities if and when required.

What you Know   or Possess

• Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Mechanical hands-on experience
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams & P&ID drawings. 

• Experience with High-speed separators, Decanter centrifuge or any rotating heavy machinery. 

• Experience in maintenance of equipment used in Marine, Brewing, Wastewater, Mining, Rendering, Oil & Gas applications 

• Experience with PLC Control systems and basic software programming skills in Siemens and Rockwell Automation would be an added advantage.

• Australian connect/disconnect license 

• You will require a full driving license. 

• Have strong English language and writing skills. 

• Hold an Industry white card  

• Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship
