As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

The Group Real Estate Specialist ensures that Alfa Laval’s real estate and facility management activities are technically sound, cost-efficient, compliant, and aligned with Group standards. The role provides expert technical advisory, governance, and oversight across a global and decentralized organization, supporting strategic investments, project execution, and operational performance.

Group Real Estate at Alfa Laval represents a large and global portfolio of approximately 1.8 million sqm of owned and leased buildings across more than 260 sites. The portfolio spans industrial sites, workshops, offices, warehouses, and land, supporting a business operating in around 100 countries.

These assets are critical enablers of production, innovation, and growth, forming the physical backbone of Alfa Laval’s global business.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence major investments, drive global standards, and shape the future development of Alfa Laval’s global footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, review and challenge long term site development plans.
  • Oversee and review local maintenance activities
  • Review drawings, building concepts, modifications and layout solutions/changes – give quick feasibility input
  • Challenge technical assumptions
  • Interpret technical risks in investment and development projects
  • Take ownership and secure local compliance/alignment with company guidelines.
  • Oversight and review of large construction projects, ensuring they are driven according to Alfa Laval project methodology - with the right organization structure and competences.

About you

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of assessing both technical and commercial implications to drive effective decision-making. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a proactive approach, confidently challenging, influencing, and guiding stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes. A structured and pragmatic mindset is essential, as is the capacity to deliver clear, actionable recommendations in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills are a must, enabling seamless collaboration across functions and cultures. We value individuals who are not only driven and proactive but also committed to continuous improvement and long-term value creation. If you thrive on tackling complex challenges, fostering innovation, and making a lasting impact, we invite you to join our team.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive experience from construction, real estate, or technical advisory roles (e.g., contractor, consultant, or client side)
  • Experience from larger industrial and office projects
  • Strong technical understanding of industrial buildings, building systems, and construction processes
  • Experience from large CAPEX projects and complex project environments
  • Good understanding of project governance, contract models, and execution strategies
  • Experience working in an international and/or decentralized organization is an advantage
