HEADER
Alfa Laval is seeking a hands-on Factory Controller for one of its factory in France, based in Chalon/Saone.
The factory of Chalon/Saone (150 people – 60+M€ - one product) is a major site for the Business Unit.
This leadership role will be responsible for reporting and analysis of operating performance, application of Alfa Laval finance policies and procedures, internal control, as well as will be fully part of our transformation and growth plan.
This role of Factory Controller will report to the Product Group Controller of the Business Unit.
OBJECTIVE
Provide both operational and pragmatic support to the factory management team.
Day-to-day, you’ll take responsibility for business analysis, profitability and financial performance of your factory.
You supervise all financial operations and directly assist Factory Manager & BU Product Group on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to profitability, operations efficiency, operating working capital, cost benefit analysis, costing update, reporting and forecasting.
You are the Trusted Business Advisor to the Factory management team, and provide information and recommendations vital to enabling managers and leadership to make informed decisions
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION (outline job duties and responsibilities):
Ensure accurate and timely reporting & business analysis, profitability and financial performance of the factory. Proactively communicate on business impacting events.
Drive quarterly forecast and yearly budget, including data preparation, review and presentation to different level managers
Drive the annual costing update process, aligned with BU Operations and with Group policies
Take the lead on guarding, developing and implementing financial controls and operational & financial processes. Responsible for ensuring all internal controls are in place.
Hands-on, you take the lead on providing and presenting facts and recommendations to management team and project/solutions teams, regarding product cost, project follow-up, efficiency and other areas for improvement that you see.
Effective ongoing communication with Factory Manager and BU Product group regarding factory performance. Able to influence and implement changes necessary to drive transformation, alignment to the group way of working and improve factory efficiency.
Serves as a key participant in the development of the Location’s strategic plan.
Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
Assists with other cross functional projects as needed within BU/Product Group as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION DESIRED:

3 to 5 years as a plant controller or cost manager in a discrete manufacturing environment, utilizing standard and job costing.
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required, Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
Strong analytical skills with experience measuring and improving processes to meet organizational goals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Power BI a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently (self-directed) and with others as part of a team
Demonstrated experience working for an international company
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
Ability to communicate and present effectively through all levels of an organization.
