About Alfa Laval GPHE
Alfa Laval is currently on a digital transformation journey, and Product configuration is an important area for Alfa Laval’s success. Our Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger (GPHE) products are customized to meet a unique customer use case, and they are sold using a configuration tool. Our sales configurator is used by both internal sales and by our external partners globally. It is integrated with both internal sales systems and our e-Business portal.
About the job
In this job, you will be part of a team working at R&D, delivering the Engineering Configurator (eConfigurator) for GPHE. The eConfigurator handles all technical rules for product variance and is integrated in the overall Sales configurator.
The development and delivery of the software is done in close cooperation with other parts of R&D, Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, as well as Central IT, and it all takes place in a global work environment.
You will manage the Product data in the eConfigurator, forming the link between the Design engineers who creates the data and the Configuration systems that consumes it.
You will work with collecting this data from various sources and make sure it is implemented correctly. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining import tools and integrations that facilitates this task.
You will also play an important role in quality assurance, testing and deployment of the eConfigurator, as well as managing some support tools built on the eConfigurator.
Main Responsibilities
Collecting product data from various platforms and implementing in the eConfigurator´ s data collection
Drive and implement integrations for data transfer into the eConfigurator, improving efficiency
Verification and testing of the data in both the eConfigurator and in the auto-generated 3D- and 2D CAD representations.
Create and execute automated tests for data verification
Facilitate execution of manual tests together with design engineer peers
What you know
We believe you have studied Mechanical engineering or equivalent, coupled with an interest in programming. You have excellent communication and presentation skills and fluent in business English. You have an interest in and understanding of the technical domain, combined with a functional and business-oriented understanding.
It is meriting if you have experience from product information modelling or have worked with the software tools Tacton Studio, Palma, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, Postman, Visual Studio or Teamcenter. General programming experience and knowledge of API programming is also meriting.
