Background
At Alfa Laval, we are strengthening our global master data capabilities as part of our broader digital transformation journey across product lifecycle management, supply chain, and enterprise processes. Our ambition: deliver the right solutions to our customers - faster, smarter, and more sustainably. We work in accordance with the SAFe methodology because we believe it adds extra value to our stakeholders and to the receivers of our efforts. We strive to keep the end users and their daily work in mind.
We are now building a new global team for master data management based on Profisee, replacing legacy solutions and expanding the scope over time across customer, supplier, and finance master data.
About the job
As Product Owner for Global Master Data you will play a key role in shaping Alfa Laval’s global master data strategy across customer, supplier and finance domains. You will be responsible for driving and coordinating multiple master data products and teams, ensuring alignment across priorities, roadmaps, and deliveries. This includes leading the transition from legacy systems to a new Profisee-based solution, as well as supporting future migrations as the platform evolves.
This is a newly established role within a new global setup. A core part of your responsibility will be to help build and scale a dedicated cross-functional team with colleagues in Sweden and India, while defining the ways of working, priorities, and roadmap for this area. In practice, you will not only own the product direction, but also help shape how the function operates globally.
Responsibilities:
Define and drive the vision and roadmap for global master data management, ensuring alignment with business strategy
Establish and scale a new cross-functional team together with key stakeholders across Sweden and India
Own and prioritize the product backlog for Profisee and related master data capabilities based on business value and stakeholder needs
Translate business requirements into clear, actionable deliverables for development teams
Collaborate with Product Management, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Enterprise Architecture to align priorities and ensure consistency across domains
Oversee the transition from legacy master data solutions into a scalable global platform
Ensure data quality, governance, and information architecture are continuously improved across systems
Act as key coordination point between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure alignment and delivery
Who are you
You are a strategic and communicative professional with a passion for data and digital transformation. You have a proven track record in product ownership, data management or related fields, and thrive in dynamic, international environments. Your leadership skills enable you to build and inspire cross-functional teams. Last but especially not least, you are comfortable working with colleagues across different cultures and time zones, particularly in Sweden and India.
You possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data quality and governance. You are adept at translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable work items and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your proactive approach and drive for continuous improvement help you navigate change, manage transitions from legacy systems and deliver innovative solutions that support business growth.
What you know
Experience as a Product Owner or similar role within master data, enterprise data, or digital transformation initiatives
Strong understanding of master data management, data governance, and enterprise data flows
Experience with Profisee or similar MDM platforms is highly desirable
Experience working with legacy system transitions, migrations, or capability build-ups
Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
