Quality Engineer - ASME Orders
Position Purpose
The Quality Engineer - ASME Orders ensures full quality, regulatory, and documentation compliance for all orders subject to ASME requirements. This role guarantees strict adherence to customer specifications, applicable codes, and internal company procedures throughout the entire project lifecycle, moving seamlessly from the initial contract review to final delivery.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the Project Quality Management by analyzing technical and regulatory requirements during the Order Review phase. You will act as a key partner for the project, production, purchasing, and logistics teams, ensuring everyone aligns with ASME standards while actively contributing quality expertise during project progress meetings.
For Controls and Inspections, you will define and maintain the Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and coordinate all internal and external inspection activities. A core part of your day-to-day will involve managing critical relationships with Authorized Inspectors (AI), Authorized Inspection Agencies (AIA), customers, and Third-Party Inspectors, while closely monitoring that all testing activities are completed successfully. Additionally, you will drive Supplier Management by supporting the development of vendors involved in ASME orders to ensure they meet the required quality benchmarks.
Core Operational Activities
Your daily activities will span the entire production cycle. During the project kick-off, you will review quality requirements to issue and update comprehensive Quality Plans. You will be responsible for verifying material certificates as well as reviewing WPS, PQR, and brazing operator qualifications.
On the shop floor and beyond, you will coordinate witness and hold points, manage audits conducted by inspection agencies (AI), and support general factory quality control activities. Finally, you will oversee the issuance and verification of the final project documentation—such as Manufacturer's Data Reports and Data Books—while always contributing to internal continuous improvement projects.
