About the job

Working within the Marine Division in the UK & Ireland Sales Company, the Sales Bid Engineer - Marine is responsible for preparing and submitting competitive, technically sound bids and proposals that meet client requirements while aligning with company standards and profitability goals. Technical & Commercial Coordination

  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams to define scope, specifications, and deliverables.

  • Lead technical negotiations with customers alongside the Sales Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, commercial requirements, and regulatory standards.

Customer Engagement

  • Understand customer drivers and tailor proposals to maximise value for both the client and the company.

  • Participate in clarification meetings and negotiations with clients.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of bids, proposals, and related documentation.

  • Provide regular updates and reports on bid status and performance metrics.

  • Flexible in responding to changing client requirements and project scopes.

Data Analysis

  • Interpret technical data, financial models, and market research to inform bid strategies.

  • Naval, Commercial or Merchant Marine industry knowledge or experience is an advantage, as is knowledge of equipment relevant to the marine industry.

  • Technical expertise in engineering principles and systems.

  • Cost estimation and risk assessment capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Excellent English written and verbal communication is a pre-requisite.
