About the job:
This is a 2nd shift position. The Structure Welder will use various power tools and welding equipment to lay out, fit, tack and weld steel components and assemblies according to blueprints. Uses measurement and visual inspection to ensure quality fit up and welds.

Conducts himself/herself in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.
Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Operates power tools, mig welder, grinders, plasma cutter, and oxyacetylene torch to cut and connect parts.
Assists with lay out, positioning, aligning, fitting and welding components together.
Ensures and checks weld quality.
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Assembles parts by bolting or welding.
Provides needed material(s) to various work stations and/or locations.
Reads blueprints and instructions to understand weld procedures.
Corrects imperfections by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
Loads and unloads trucks, units and parts.
Completes Preventive Maintenance Checklist and performs routine maintenance as required.
Responsible for area clean-up on a daily basis.
Assists other areas/departments as needed including training others or acquiring new skills.
What you know:
You have a High School or GED equivalent. Candidates interested in company-sponsored GED program will be considered. Must have a respectful approach to working with others, including the following experience.
This is 2nd Shift Position (apprx 4:30 pm to 3:00 am)
Prior manufacturing experience required.
Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure required.
Experience using MIG and oxyacetylene torches required.
Hand power tools and drill/saw machinery operation or related experience required.
Overhead crane experience required.
Forklift operation certification preferred.
Physical and Environmental Requirements of the Position:
Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Stands or walks 70% of workday.
Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
