Alfa Laval has been present in India since 1937. It is part of the Alfa Laval Group headquartered out of Lund, Sweden, and sits within the India, Middle East, and Africa cluster. The India Corporate Office is in Pune, Maharashtra.

The factories located in Maharashtra manufacture and supply key components and systems in Separation, Heat Transfer, and Flow technology. It is also a hub for Centrifugal Separators, Decanters, and Flow equipment delivered to the global markets from here.

The company's products and solutions are omnipresent in over 25 multiple Indian industries including food processing, dairy, edible oil processing, sugar production, pharmaceutical & biotechnology, brewery, distillery, starch, pulp and paper, oil & gas, marine and energy. Alfa Laval caters to many national and international clients based across India and neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

We are now looking for a for an incumbent to own the business growth for Oil & Fats BU within Food & Pharma Business Unit in India.

Food & Pharma Division (FPD) is a strategic pillar of Alfa Laval India, to achieve our growth ambition for the coming years.

Role Description

  • Formulating and Implementing industry specific strategies/sales plan in alignment with business unit strategy & Sales plan to achieve business performance and agreed business targets.
  • Develop the business in specific Industries by right positioning of Products and developing applications.
  • Provide seamless customer experience during all phases of business as face of Alfa Laval.

The position will report to the Separation Technologies Business Unit Manager, Food & Pharma division.

The Key elements of this role involve:

  • Build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with customers in Oils and Fats Industries.
  • Business planning for defined Industry, forecasting and achievement of objectives, key performance indicators and revenue and profit forecasts.
  • Continuously generates leads and business opportunities through proactive work in product promotion, customer events, seminars, etc.
  • Convert inquiries into order by selecting/configurating product/solutions by actively working with the customers and field sales team,  
  • Gathering and providing market intelligence on Industry, competition, by effective networking and other means and share it with sales teams to develop competitive business strategies.
  • Negotiate and close the requirement/contracts along with sales team
  • Work closely with Engineering of supply team in pre-sales and post sales activities.  
  • Develop the Industry, Application, and product knowledge of sales team by trainings.
  • Manage the claim and deliver superior customer experience.
  • Use CRM tools and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way to support the sales process and take decisions
  • Manage product portfolio for India cluster of Oils and Fats including new product launches ((High Speed Separators & Decanters)
  • Secure cross functional collaboration to deliver superior customer experience

Key competencies required as Industry manager:

  • Good decision and strategizing ability
  • Customer relationship management and excellent negotiating skills.
  • Experience in Oils and Fats Industry and process knowledge
  • To be able to close contracts by innovatively providing options/solutions.
  • Analytical ability
  • Financial acumen
  • Networking and influencing ability

Qualification:

Graduate Engineer, Chemical, Oil technologist or mechanical, from reputed institute. Degree/diploma in management (Marketing or sales) would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years of overall functional experience in Sales, business development for capital goods in Oils and Fats Industry
  • Industry experience: from process engineering, manufacturing, equipment supply
  • Working experience with Oils and Fats Customers in previous organization. Or direct experience working in above industries.
  • Working experience pan India/regional.  
  • Accountable for P&L management, with responsibility for both revenue generation and profitability.
