Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the role

Health, safety, sustainability and quality are fundamental to how we operate at Alfa Laval. As our new HSEQ Specialist, you'll join the newly established Nordic HSEQ department and play a key role in shaping the next level of our HSEQ culture and ways of working across the region. Rather than working from the sidelines, you'll be out in business, partnering with leaders, technicians and operational teams to ensure safe, compliant and high-quality ways of working become part of everyday operations.

With a particular focus on our Service Centers in Denmark and Sweden, as well as our Nordic Field Service organization, you'll drive practical improvements, strengthen our safety culture and ensure work performed both in our facilities and at customer sites meets the highest standards. Offering a high degree of autonomy and variety, the role spans four Nordic countries and allows you to make a tangible impact on people, operations and business performance.

What you'll do

  • Partner closely with leaders and operational teams to embed HSEQ into daily operations across the Nordic region.

  • Support the practical implementation of Alfa Laval's HSEQ policies, standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct and facilitate risk assessments, ensuring hazards are identified, mitigated and effectively managed.

  • Lead and support incident reporting, investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented and followed through.

  • Spend time in our Service Centers and alongside Field Service Engineers, coaching and supporting safe working practices both on-site and at customer locations.

  • Monitor HSEQ performance, identify trends and provide operational insights to the Nordic HSEQ Leader and management teams.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging employees, encouraging ownership and fostering open dialogue around health, safety, environment and quality.

  • Support compliance with relevant legislation, internal requirements and customer expectations across the four Nordic countries.

  • Participating in audits, inspections and follow-up activities, ensuring findings are translated into practical improvements.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Nordics to share best practices, standardize ways of working and continuously improve operational performance.

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you with the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our office in Søborg, Denmark, or Lund, Sweden, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 40 – 50 days per year.

What You Know

  • Experience in operational HSEQ implementation with a strong focus on Health and Safety, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, risk assessments, corrective action follow-up, and supporting line managers and operational teams within an ISO 45001 framework or equivalent.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of the relevant HSE legislation in at least one Nordic country, with the ability to navigate requirements across the Nordic jurisdictions.

  • A technical education, health and safety qualification, or similar, combined with practical HSE experience in an industrial, service or manufacturing environment.

  • Experience supporting field service, workshop/service center operations or employees working at customer sites is considered an advantage.

  • Experience facilitating safety training, toolbox talks or coaching leaders and employees on safe working practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, turning HSEQ requirements into practical and sustainable ways of working.

  • Experience participating in or supporting internal and external audits, inspections and compliance activities.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, prioritize risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on operational data.

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of one or more Nordic languages is an advantage.

About You

You are an approachable, pragmatic and solution-oriented HSEQ professional who enjoys working closely with the business. You build strong relationships, communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and influence through collaboration rather than authority. You demonstrate sound judgement, take initiative and work independently while remaining open to different perspectives. With an agile mindset and a drive for results, you turn HSEQ requirements into practical solutions that create value for both people and business.

At Alfa Laval, we believe diverse perspectives make us stronger. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, while offering you the flexibility and autonomy to shape your work and make a visible impact across our Nordic operations.
