VACANCY FOR PROJECT ENGINEER

Join us as a Project Engineer to support the execution of engineering projects in Oil & gas / Offshore industry. You will assist the Technical Project Manager and Engineering Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing engineering deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy, timely delivery, and alignment with client requirements. You will mainly work on Projects associated with freshwater generators of assigned projects, with medium to high complexity projects of different types of evaporators.

The position / About the Job:

In this job the Project Engineer would be responsible for:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Mechanical/Process engineering and design of components and systems to various industries for medium to heigh level complexity projects
• Have a good understanding of P&ID´s, PFD for projects in sales and execution phase
• Analyzing problems and coming up with designs to solve them
• Ensure that client requirements are adhered to, in a cost-efficient way.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate project requirements with the project manager
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations and documentation.
• Assist in the preparation and review of project engineering documentation including Document Index, P&IDs, GA drawings, equipment specifications, datasheets, customer format datasheets, piping specifications, IOM Manuals, spare parts list and customer specific documentation.
• Assist in our global engineering coordination activities with other Alfa Laval sites
• Support the Project Manager in planning and tracking project engineering schedules, engineering milestones, and engineering deliverables.
• Assist in preparing RFQ / TS for various valves, pumps, piping fittings, skids.
• Understand customer technical specifications / requirements. Compare with Alfa Laval standard offering. Make deviation list / clarification list as per requirement.
• Understand customer tagging philosophy / Alfa Laval standard tagging philosophy / functional tagging philosophy. Assist designer to work on tagging philosophy.
• Work on technical specifications data entry in database software enabling RFQ release to Procurement team.   
• Participate in weekly meetings, kick off meetings, closure meetings, learning meetings. 
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, EIA and external workshop to ensure seamless project execution.
• Participate in technical discussions with clients, vendors, internal stakeholders, design team, EIA Team and external workshop.
• Monitor engineering progress and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Conduct technical evaluations of vendors offers and support procurement activities.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs as required.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure proper version control and traceability on platforms like Promis.
• Maintain project learnings in dedicated platform like Promis.

What you can be?

Experience & Education:

       Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical / mechanical engineering.
• 8-10 years of experience in project engineering within the process industry.
• Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals and project lifecycle.
• Work effectively on less to medium complex tasks/projects with minimum support.
• Proficiency in engineering and communication tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, MS Office, Teams.
• Good knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, DIN EN, IEC, ISO). Knowledge and experience with Oil & Gas / offshore engineering codes and standards is an advantage
• Strong communication and coordination skills. Cross-cultural awareness and excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Design, selection & sizing of mechanical equipment
• Extensive experience working on engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with EPC customers or engineering consultants would be added advantage.
• Exposure to process plant design, equipment selection, and layout planning.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling review tools (e.g., Navisworks / Design review).
• Experience working on international projects / working with different culture colleagues would be added advantage.
• Need to support colleagues from Europe both physically and remotely as per requirement.
• Occasional travelling to Europe as per task requirement.
