Alfa Laval UK&I is looking for a Relocation Project Manager on a Fixed Term Contract.

About the Job  

This role is a fixed term contract opportunity to identify relocation options for our Service Centre and Office and then subsequently manage and execute the project subject to legal processes. Our current Office and Service Centre is in Camberley, Surrey. The role will be Camberley based for the duration of the project, with some home-based flexibility.

The Project Manager will report to the Service Division Manager and own the project activities to successfully move and establish our new operations.

The project manager will report on project matters to a Steering Committee comprised of key stakeholders and the UK Management Team / Central roles

The Service Centre consists of stand-alone equipment used to service and maintain our core equipment and is supported by normal industrial ancillary and axillary equipment,

Within our current facility there is Medium to Heavy duty precision engineering equipment (such as lathes, CNC’s, Grinders, Boring Equipment) as well as High Speed Balancing machines, chemical cleaning tanks, pressure washers, extraction systems and LEV’s. We also have liquid nitrogen tanks and systems, overhead cranes, welding equipment, ovens and spray booths.

Key Objectives of the role:

• Define and put-together a project proposal and chronogram
• Delivery to agreed programme
• Delivery within approved budget
• Keep LTI frequency below the AL ambition level
• Manage and mitigate all potential environmental incidents risks
• Maintain business continuity through all stages of the project
• Successful commissioning of all equipment
• Successful handover and operational acceptance
• Completion of all statutory inspections and certifications
• Site Acceptance &Operational Readiness
• Documentation pack to include (but not limited to) – Asset Register, O&M Manuals and Warranty information, Commissioning reports, Test and Inspection Reports, Project Final Close Out

Qualifications:

Essential

• Formal Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, PMP or equivalent)
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent H&S experience)
• Experience managing industrial contractors

Desirable

• Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical)
• CDM experience
• IOSH Managing Safely
• SMSTS
• COSHH Certification

What you know:  

The ideal candidate must have experience with (but not limited to)

• Heavy Machine Relocation
• Foundation design and review
• Installation and Commissioning (including alignment)
• Understanding of compressed air systems, drainage, utilities and electrical distribution systems.
• Overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
• Gas Systems and Fire Systems (including HVAC) 
• Industrial relocation projects from Manufacturing facility set up, Workshop relocation, Capital Projects ($5 million+) and multi-site programmes.
• Commissioning
• Operational readiness
• Establishing, committing and delivering on agreed budgets 
• Delivering project updates and milestone achievements 
• Working with QHSE teams to establish and implement best practice as well as following all applicable regulations  
• Managing multi discipline Subcontractors and Suppliers and ensuring project scope and activities are complete safely and in accordance with regulations 
• Ensuring equipment meets specification and is commissioned according to user requirement 
• Engaging with internal supply chain to establish new sub-contractors/suppliers 
• Work with internal processes and systems to execute the projects
