About the job

Technical Lead – IoT Software Development

  • Stockholm
  • Lund
  • Full time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

We are looking for a Technical Lead – IoT Software Development to help build secure, scalable digital solutions that connect Alfa Laval products with customers, service teams, and cloud services. These solutions support remote service, data visualization, performance analytics, and improved equipment efficiency, reliability, compliance, and sustainability.

You will combine technical leadership with hands-on software development. You will translate business and customer needs into robust technical solutions, guide implementation, support architectural and technical decisions, and help ensure quality throughout the software lifecycle. Working with developers, Product Owners, Delivery Leads, business stakeholders, and DevOps teams, you will influence technical direction and support the delivery of reliable, maintainable, and secure solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Define technical solutions, implementation approaches, estimates, and technical dependencies.
  • Guide and mentor developers through technical discussions, code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices.
  • Contribute hands-on to software development and technical problem solving.
  • Support the complete software lifecycle, from development and deployment to maintenance and operational handover.
  • Ensure solutions meet expectations for performance, stability, usability, maintainability, and cybersecurity.

Who are you

You are an experienced and hands-on software engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership with active development. You are structured, self-motivated, and able to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail. You take initiative, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively across teams to move technical decisions and delivery forward. You also enjoy mentoring others and influencing through dialogue, knowledge sharing, and sound technical judgment rather than formal authority.

What you know

You have a strong background in software development and experience designing, delivering, and supporting reliable software solutions. You are comfortable taking technical responsibility while remaining close to the code and the development team.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
  • Experience designing and delivering backend or distributed systems, APIs, and service-based architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience working in Agile software development teams.
  • Experience mentoring developers and coordinating technical dependencies across teams.
  • Experience with deployment, maintenance, monitoring, logging, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of production systems.

It is considered an advantage if you have experience with:

  • IoT, edge, telemetry, cloud-connected, or industrial monitoring solutions.
  • Microservices, messaging, or event-driven systems.
  • Linux-based environments or time-series databases such as TimescaleDB or InfluxDB.
  • Angular, Python, or other frontend and scripting technologies.
  • Azure DevOps, Jira, deployment pipelines, or operational handover.

We know that not every candidate will meet every qualification listed above. If you are excited about the role and believe you can contribute to the team, we encourage you to apply.

What’s in it for you?

In this role, you will help create advanced IoT solutions with global impact while working closely with international teams and experienced technical colleagues. You will have the opportunity to grow as a technical leader, remain hands-on, and contribute to solutions that support efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

  • Build advanced IoT solutions used globally.
  • Work with international teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop your technical leadership and software expertise.
  • Enjoy a collaborative environment with flexibility and work-life balance.
