Who you are：

We are looking for Application Engineer to our Qingdao Marine site of Business Unit Heat & Gas systems (BU HGS). As an Application Engineer, you are working in our Capital Sales organization, and you are part of Application Engineering team. Your responsibility is to conduct the technical match of our product range. Your working area will primarily be within our Steam Boilers, Thermal Fluid or Exhaust Gas Cleaning system portfolio. Based on customers’ expectations and requirements, you will be key person in the overall support towards our sales organization as well as to our execution organization. You are reporting locally to Qingdao Marine Site Manager, and you have operational dotted line to System Engineering Team manager. You work independently in our Qingdao site and in close co-operation with other colleagues from Application Engineering team and other stakeholders.

As our new Technical Product Application Engineer, we expect you to come with an educational background form Marine Engineering or similar, combined with a few years of professional experience from either merchant fleet, yards or other supplier from the marine industry. It is preferred you understand engine room layout, exhaust gas system and/or vessel operation. To succeed in this position you have good organizing, co-ordination and communication skills. You are cooperative and able to communicate in fluent English.

What you know:

• You have mechanical technical education at bachelor or master level combined with technical work experience
• You are imaginative and self-reliant as well as active, structured and systematic in your work.
• Good communication skills in English both oral and written.
• You have ability to co-ordinate between different stakeholders.
• Knowledge to process engineering and process design is an advantage
• Bringing valuable information into design phase from production line and general product knowledge will be considered a great advantage
• Genuine interest in marine products
• Experience of simplified CAD drawing and design (correction P&ID, etc.) is an advantage.

About the job：

• System design of Boiler, Thermal Fluid (TFO) or Exhaust Gas Cleaning system based on customer specific requirement with focus on finding the best solution for customer and Alfa Laval, based on our existing sales configuration systems
• First point of go-to specialist for questions related to our standard product portfolio in general.
• Preparation of design calculations, technical specifications, and documentation for local sales offices so they can finalize quotations
• Assist sales offices in preparing technical handover material for signed orders internally towards execution organization
• Participate in customer meetings for technical clarifications
• Support the department in other technical matters
