The International Service Engineer is part of the International Marine Service team and is responsible for executing services jobs on board of vessels assigned by ”Global Marine Service Coordinator”.

You are a technically skilled, solution-driven person with a strong customer first mindset. You are able to take calculated risks and make tough and fast decisions to meet the customer needs.  You enjoy international travelling and working on urgent and sometimes complicated cases.

About the job

The purpose of the job is to help marine customers with field service Alfa Laval's Marine separation and heat transfer equipment.  You need to work together with other Global Marine Service Organization members as a team, and act as a technical support backup to Global Technical Specialists and Global Coordinators if required. You may also need to assist in performing local field service jobs or other tasks if required. The job requires frequent cross-border travels and working with rolling schedules.

Desired Skills and Competences

You are a skilled service engineer with 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering. You have a good understanding of PLC and Control systems, as well as operation and maintenance of marine products and application within marine separation and heat exchanger. You have fluency in oral and written English skills.

Key Tasks:

  • Execute international and local field service that are received through the International Marine Service Desk.
  • Diagnose, solve and report solutions and improvements on board of vessels to definitively solve the customer’s problem even when third party equipment or installations are involved.
  • Perform troubleshooting with full autonomy on board of vessels in the requested port, and if needed, sail with a vessel until the problem is solved.
  • Provide qualified service on customers’ marine separation and heat transfer equipment.
  • Execute Performance Audits.
  • Produce service reports and document performed field service as per guidelines.
  • Work together with other Global Marine Service Organization members as a team, and act as a technical support backup whenever required.
  • Travel extensively to execute marine service jobs, primarily in Asia but also globally when needed.
