We’re looking for a passionate “Service Technician" for our Team, based in our Suisio Italy site.

Activities:

• Secure necessary actions in case non-conformities with the customer requirements have been detected.
• Leading/guide repair and rework.
• Coordinate with engineer and TM for Leading Kaizan/A4 with some tools.
• Help checking welding quality during manufacturing process.
• Responsible for training welders/welding-operators and related technical personnel according to welding engineer/TM arrangement.
• To be involved for the specifications of the welding equipment and welding fixture/tools.
• Participation in following up the calibration of the welding equipment/meter to meet different production code requirement. Such as GB/ASME.
• Supporting welding engineer for new welding technology import and development, WPS/PQR etc.
• Execute production work according to ALPS standard and participate in continuously improvement.

Competences:

Technical and Specific Skills

  • Diagnostics and Repair: Knowledge of flange techniques, retightening, non-destructive testing (NDT), replacement of tube bundles or gaskets, and hydraulic testing procedures.
  • Drawing and Standards Reading: Ability to interpret isometric drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and construction/maintenance standards (TEMA, ASME, UNI EN).
  • Basic Metallurgy: Understanding of material behavior exposed to corrosion, fouling, and thermal shock in process plants.

Management and Soft Skills

  • Operational Leadership: Ability to coordinate local teams of technicians and subcontractors, assigning tasks and monitoring work progress.
  • Problem Solving: Prompt resolution of technical issues directly on site to avoid costly plant shutdowns.
  • International Communication: Excellent command of English (or the local site language) to interface with foreign client management.
  • Daily Report Writing

Crucial Certifications and Qualifications

  • Reference Standards: Knowledge of ASME Section VIII (for pressure vessels) and TEMA (Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) standards.
  • Quality Control (NDT): Ability to interpret non-destructive tests such as liquid penetrant testing (PT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and radiographic testing (RT).
  • Welding Qualifications: Knowledge of welding specifications (WPS/PQR) and ability to verify welders’ qualifications (WPQ) for interventions on pipes and maintenance.

Advanced Operational Skills

  • Torquing and Hydraulic Tensioning: Supervision of controlled tightening of flange bolts.
  • Welding and Tube Expansion: Supervision of tube replacement (retubing), tube expansion, and tube-to-tubesheet welding.

Site Safety and Management (HSE)

  • Special Work Permits: Management of “Hot Work” permits in potentially explosive atmospheres and gas testing.
  • Plant Shutdowns (Turnaround/Shutdown): Ability to work under stress while respecting tight schedules (Gantt), coordinating 24/7 work shifts.
  • HSE Protocols: Strict management of work permits (Permit to Work), confined spaces, and work at height.

We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The starting base salary for this role is 35.000€, CCNL METALWORKING.
