Background
The Energy Division is in a transformation to clean technologies with many new business opportunities, and we need to strengthen our team. Alfa Laval is active in the entire hydrogen value chain, where our heat transfer technologies are core components. Alfa Laval’s proprietary technologies and heat transfer expertise, in combination with its global manufacturing capabilities, are essential to enable the acceleration of decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors through our mission to facilitate affordable and efficient solutions on an industrial scale. Together with our customers, we are now increasing our focus around innovative technologies in the area of electrolyzer and fuel cell technologies.
About the job
We offer an interesting job opportunity within the Business Unit Electrolyzer and Fuel cell Technologies (BU-EFT) for you who enjoy working with key customers in a global market and high-end technologies. You will be based in Lund, Sweden and report to the Vice President, Strategy & Partnerships, who leads the business develop area.
The Application Product Specialist (APS) for BU EFT will act as the technical and application interface between customers, R&D, and the business development team. The role is critical in supporting the early deployment and industrialization of our new Fusion-Bonded Gas heat exchanger, the FBG product platform, in high- temperature applications such as Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) and Solid Oxide Electrolysis  Cell (SOEC) systems. The APS will ensure that customer needs, application challenges, and insights from the market are translated into actionable input for product development and deployment in
customer pilots and real commercial launches. The role will grow to ensure that any relevant existing products from Alfa Laval are also brought into the application scope.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Customer Project Interface: Serve as the primary technical contact for FBG heat exchanger projects, collaborating with the Business Development Manager to guide customer leads from initial contact through technical offer preparation, demos, and pilot integration.
Application Expertise: Develop deep understanding of SOFC/SOEC system requirements and translate market and application insights into product sizing criteria, proposals for the customers, and create input for future product roadmap.
Industrialization Support: Provide product roadmap input from customer feedback and pilot results, collaborate with R&D on validation and testing, and monitor field performance with customer follow-up.
Market & Competitor Insights: Gather market trends, customer insights, and competitor benchmarks, and support forecasting for FBG product demand in current and future customer projects.
Training & Enablement: Over time develop training materials for internal stakeholders.
What you know
You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering combined with several years of technical experience working with heat exchangers and heat transfer, preferably in high-temperature processes. Your technical experience comes paired with a solid commercial mindset and customer-focused approach. We trust you are result-oriented and thrive from identifying solutions, capable of translating technical knowledge into practical, value-adding solutions for customers. Proficiency in English both written and spoken is a must for this role.
