Alfa Laval needs talent that can be successful and embrace the constant change in the volatile internal and external environment and grow within the company. This means that we need to focus on behaviours, potential and ability to grow into the role.

Application

We want you to focus on the opportunities that truly excite you and that you match. A more focused approach gives us more time to concentrate on your application and helps you focus on the jobs that are the best match for your talents. Please pay close attention to our different job descriptions and apply in English unless otherwise stated.

Everyone who applies is given the same time and consideration. Our job descriptions will include any application deadlines. For most of our opportunities, we accept applications on a rolling basis, and we encourage you to apply sooner rather than later.

We try to get back to everyone within a few weeks of applying. With more popular roles, this may take a bit longer.

Not being successful with your application can often be a matter of timing, rather than a reflection of your skills or qualifications. So please do not let that stop you from applying for other roles in the future. Our talent acquisition team might further reach out if we find a different potential match for your skills, qualifications and interests.

Interviews

While the process may differ slightly for different roles or teams, the same basics apply. Not all of these may apply for your role, but here are some of the ways we assess candidates in our recruitment process

 

Assessments

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us focus on behaviors, potential and ability to grow within the company, we apply Pymetrics assessments at the start of most of our recruitment processes, and upon application you might be asked to play the assessment games.

Pymetrics can assist us in identifying and including candidates with a broader range of backgrounds, education and work experiences in our recruitment processes as:

  • Traits are not influenced by experience or demographic background, they are inherent to all people
  • Real-time behavioral measurement as opposed to self-report leads to more accurate and objective result
  • Results are not right or wrong – they provide insight into candidate´s fit to a role

We might also apply further assessments like personality questionnaires, ability tests and business cases later in the process.

Exploration

The first step is a video or telephone call with one of our talent acquisition partners to learn more about you, your background and aspirations as well as discuss the role, team and company. If all goes well, we’ll invite you for an interview.

Interviews

Our process can be rigorous, but it is also meant to be friendly and give you the opportunity to get to know us better. Interviewers typically include the hiring manager and one or two other stakeholders. The final interview is with the hiring manager´s manager. This offers us the opportunity to assess your potential to grow within Alfa Laval and provides you with the opportunity to gain more information and broader exposure. We conduct our interviews using structured interviewing techniques and apply open-ended questions.

We provide reasonable accommodations during the interview process and please do reach out to your talent acquisition partner about any additional needs you may have. From providing readers or sign language interpreters to modifying equipment or extended time, we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Decision & offer

We will do our utmost to get back to you within a few days after your final interview with our decision and feedback. If there are multiple candidates interviewing for the same role this can however take longer.

We typically apply reference checks and background checks according to local practices.

If we decide that you are the best candidate for the role, your talent acquisition partner will reach out to you with an offer. Once you have accepted the offer, we will start the onboarding process.

FAQs

The application deadline is often mentioned at the end of the job advertisement but we would encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Generally, as long as a job is posted you can apply. 

Yes, upon your first application with us you will create an account, and this can then be used when applying for any of our other jobs as well, making it quick and easy for you. You can apply for more than one role at once, though we recommend narrowing your choices down to a few jobs that truly match your skills, experience, and interests. We encourage you to make sure your experiences and skills are always well documented and updated in your account as they evolve.

Our recruitment process times will vary but all will go through the same main stages and you can always check the overall status in your account.  We further strive to provide continuous feedback to candidates as we progress. 

Yes we do, by joining our Talent Community, and uploading your resume you´ll be visible to our Recruiters and have the possibility to be matched with potential jobs.
