About The Job
As Business Developer – Pharma, you will play a key role in driving the profitable growth of Alfa Laval's membrane business within pharmaceutical processing, upstream and downstream bioprocessing, fermentation and water recovery applications. Working closely with Sales Companies, strategic customers, and cross-functional teams, you will identify new business opportunities, develop customer-focused solutions, and strengthen Alfa Laval's market position. Combining technical expertise with commercial insight, you will translate customer needs into sustainable business opportunities while supporting the continued expansion of our global pharma business.
Your main responsibilities:
Drive business development and profitable growth within pharmaceutical processing and water recovery applications.
Lead commercial and technical dialogues together with Sales Companies, Key Channel Partners, and strategic customers
Identify, develop, and mature new business opportunities, applications, and strategic partnerships.
Collaborate closely with Product & Application, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to deliver customer value.
Contribute to product launches, market development initiatives, customer visits, and industry events to strengthen Alfa Laval's market presence.
Own business planning, opportunity pipeline development, forecasting, and strategic account planning
We would prefer a candidate to work from our offices in Denmark or Sweden, but for the right candidate, any of our offices around the world could be an option. Expected travel commitment of approximately 50 – 60 days per year should be expected.
What You Know
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, Biotechnology, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5–10+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, application engineering, process engineering, or a similar customer-facing role within the process industry.
Proven ability to combine technical expertise with commercial understanding to identify opportunities and create value for customers.
Experience working with customers in regulated industries, preferably within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences, or other process industries.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across international, cross-functional teams and build trusted customer relationships.
Experience managing complex sales opportunities, customer projects, or business development initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
Solid understanding of process technologies and customer applications; experience with membrane filtration, separation technologies, or hygienic process systems is a strong advantage.
