Alfa Laval is in a transformation to clean technologies with many new business opportunities, in particularly in China where a new market is emerging in Renewable chemicals, fuels and plastics. Defossilization drives a need for new feedstocks and new usages into traditional products. Alfa Laval’s separation, heat transfer and water management solutions are well suited to take a substantial portion of these new markets.
To thrive in the role, you´re passionate about sustainability and making a difference through technology. You are experienced in business development and preferably come from the renewables chemicals industry or have profound insights and experience in areas linked to industrial fermentation or waste to chemicals. You have a holistic understanding of the business landscape and like to identify the deeper industry, regulatory and customer needs in order to understand the business drivers and develop the “right” opportunities. You´re comfortable networking and experienced building business relations. Organized and structured to keep several trails in parallel and successfully follow through without losing track. A team player comfortable working cross organization and cultures, both in China and in a truly international environment.
About the job
The job is anchored at our Chinese sales company, where you - in collaboration with the centrally located Business Development Owner for renewables and the sales team of the Chinese Sales Company - will build a closer and more active relationship with stakeholders on the renewables scene in China, in particular aiming at supplementing the established AL market presence with new stakeholder presence, supporting new renewable products and new ways to market.
General tasks involve boosting market intelligence on new renewables technologies and stakeholders in China, building and communicating a deep, structured and transparent understanding of relevant regulation and strategic plans/road maps in China, helping Central in outreach activities to support the AL efforts to obtain and communicate thought leadership and finally, but not least, facilitating and boosting the collaboration between AL central and the Chinese Sales Company.
Specific tasks will include:
We believe you are an experienced business development professional with the capability to work in the unknown and communicate it in a clear and structured way. You have several years of technical and commercial experience linked to industrial production processes in the renewable chemicals industry both in China and in an international setting.
You have a graduate degree in engineering or similar and a strong commercial acumen. Besides, you are passionate about sustainability and like to constantly grow your knowledge. You have excellent communication skills and must understand, speak and write English and Chinese with complete proficiency.
