About the job

Content and Communications Specialist

  • Richmond
  • Full time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

Are you passionate about crafting impactful communication strategies and delivering exceptional customer experiences? Join our team as a Content and Communications Specialist, where you’ll partner with the Content and Communication Manager and collaborate with dynamic teams to drive the alignment of local strategies with central priorities while enhancing our customer journey. This role is responsible for content activation in non-digital channels and will collaborate with other Excellence Areas in contributing to the success of marketing activities and achievement of KPIs.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all internal communications, ensuring employees are informed about cluster-wide initiatives and priorities.

  • Act as the point of contact for press releases, showcasing our commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, decarbonization, and our role as a trusted partner.

  • Develop and synchronize local communication and content strategies with market needs to support sales objectives and enhance the customer journey.

  • Leverage content from Central and Business Units (BUs), aligning local activation plans to meet cluster goals.

  • Partner with the marketing team, business subject matter experts, and leadership to craft clear, compelling content that highlights the core benefits of our products.

  • Support the Content and Communication Manager in building local omnichannel strategies for strategic initiatives, focusing on non-digital content activation and ensuring seamless collaboration with digital marketing.

  • Coordinate and execute internal company events, including open houses, team-building activities, holiday celebrations, and appreciation events for employees and customers.

  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure all content aligns with our brand voice and messaging standards.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.

What you know:

You have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism or another related discipline, and:

  • 5 or more years of experience in marketing, corporate communications, content management, or related roles.

  • Copywriting and public relations experience.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing communication strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval’s future success. Our benefits-eligible associates enjoy healthcare, dental and vision plans, a robust wellness program, generous 401(k), paid holidays, paid time off benefits, and more. At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The base salary for this role is typically $70,000-$90,000.
