About the job:
Join us as an Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the Engineering and Supply Food Systems (FOS) group at Alfa Laval. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge and leadership skills to gain exposure to multiple engineering disciplines including Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, and Process. You will tackle meaningful challenges, applying the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC ideology to contribute to key improvement initiatives. Currently, this is an office position located in Richmond, VA. Attend online and in person training to gain knowledge of LSS DMAIC philosophy at the Richmond, VA office.
As part of the job, you will:
Assist, organize, and facilitate team improvement initiatives queued in the Alfa Laval C2 global continuous improvement system.
Learn about different Alfa Laval products, supply chains, engineering disciplines, and day-to-day challenges.
Document meeting minutes, determine deliverables and deadlines with team, follow up, and drive multiple small to medium initiatives to completion.
Network and assist engineers of all disciplines with their improvement deliverables.
File completed initiatives and documentation in the C2 global continuous improvement system.
Assist Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, and Process Engineering with daily tasks under the direction of skilled and experienced E&S FOS team members.
What You Know:
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong PC skills including presentations, Excel, Adobe Connect, and Teams
AutoCAD knowledge or experience a plus.
Strong ability to collaborate with other engineering team members.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple short-term tasks.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to synthesize technical information from multiple sources.
Must be good at technical problem solving.
Must have a positive customer-focused attitude.
Must be organized and have sense of urgency.
