Who You Are 

You have Trade relevant Mechanical engineering qualifications – Fitter, Fitter machinist, mechanical engineer, with proven, hands-on, post qualification experience, assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components.

You are an individual that has excellent organizational skills to record service tasks in a clear concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner.

You are a great communicator, able to discuss issues and advise solutions to our customers equipment and processes.

You must be confident & self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported, able to follow direction and instructions with ease.

You have a good level of physical fitness, and you must have the digital mindset and skills to work with the business tools and help drive our company’s digitalization journey.

You must have full working rights in New Zealand.

About the Job 

Your duties will include:

• Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Alfa Laval products.
• Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams & P&ID drawings.
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical problems with deep application and deep product knowledge at customers site or remotely.
• Undertake field service jobs both locally and within the cluster.
• Train customer on the features of products they have purchased.
• Preparation of the service job to execute/resolve at the shortest possible time.
• Follow up on actions and promises made to customers.
• Write advanced (external/internal) service report on site and get it signed by the customer.
• Update service execution IT system with relevant information.
• Report unsafe practices, incidents and work for continuous improvement.
• Capture Installed Base on site and communicate sales opportunities to sales organization.
• Proactive service advice to customers relating to the 360 service portfolio.
• Communicate product related change notifications (Service Bulletins).
• Train and support Field Service Engineers and other employees.
• Supervise and oversee service jobs within your scope of expertise.

What you Know & Experience

• Mechanical fundamentals
• Proven experience working as a Fitter, Fitter Machinist or Mechanical Engineer
• Experience with high-speed separators and Decanter centrifuge machines.
• Experience in Marine, Brewing, Wastewater, Rendering.
• You will require a full driving license.
• Have strong English language and writing skills.
• Have strong digital skills – Word, Excel, Lotus Notes.
• Hold a forklift license (preferable, not essential)
• Hold a rigger ticket (preferable, not essential)
