Business Unit Food Systems supplies state-of-the-art solutions for processing food and beverage products. Our solutions are skid-mounted modules, process units and complete production lines, based on Alfa Laval’s key technologies, engineered to our customers’ needs. All modules and systems are project managed, engineered, sourced, supplied and commissioned by our global Engineering & Supply team, working out of eight offices across the world. Procurement plays a key role in delivering competitive solutions to our customers.
About The Job
Your focus as Global Category Manager will be secure competitively sourcing to the needs of our customer projects globally. The area of responsibility for this position will be in the range of 30-40 MEUR annual spend.
Most important for the job is to drive commercial improvements in Quality, Delivery on Time, and Cost. You will develop and anchor the sub-commodity strategy throughout the Alfa Laval organization.
The job includes identifying new opportunities, potential suppliers, negotiating, and maintaining commercial agreements and long-term relationships. You achieve results through active and close co-operation with engineering, project management and the global and local procurement network. Key tasks will include:
Analyze and monitor external market factors, and steer category activities accordingly
Build knowledge and act as commercial partner to colleagues in project management, engineering and sales
Set strategy and implement strategic actions
Source, select and approve new suppliers
Convey knowledge and guide lead buyers and project managers across the world
Report key figures and follow-up on KPI’s
At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Søborg office in Copenhagen, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 20 - 40 days per year.
What You Know
You hold a Master of Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, or equivalent and have +8 years’ procurement experience from international companies. We expect you to have deep experience with global category management and strategic sourcing. Experience with large, engineered solutions, as well as project procurement will be preferred.

To be successful in this position you must be a proactive, solution- and result-oriented team player with strong analytical and communication skills. You are used to analyzing information from various sources and turn it into solid business decisions. You work in a structured way with an eye for both details and the larger picture. You are analytic, enjoy processing information, and you have a strong drive to improve business and reach solutions.
