We are looking for a Head of Strategic Insights & Industry Marketing for the Food & Pharma Division. We are dedicated to helping billions of people access nutritious food, clean water, and safe medicine. We pioneer technologies and solutions for life-critical industries, including food, pharmaceutical, and water sectors, enabling our customers to produce more while using less water, energy, and valuable raw materials.
About the job
The Head of Strategic Insights & Industry Marketing plays a key role in shaping market-driven growth priorities for the Food & Pharma Division. Working closely with divisional leadership, strategic business developers, and stakeholders across the organization, the role translates market, customer, competitive, and industry insights into commercial opportunities and strategic initiatives.
Reporting to the VP Marketing, this role drives divisional industry marketing strategies across priority verticals, supports business planning and growth prioritization, and ensures marketing contributes directly to revenue growth, competitive positioning, and long-term business expansion. Success requires the ability to connect strategic insight with commercial execution in a complex international B2B environment.
The role also leads the division’s industry marketing agenda across priority industries, ensuring alignment between growth priorities, customer engagement, and marketing execution.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & prioritization
Lead and coordinate industry marketing and related business planning across the Division, Business Units, and regional sales companies.
Support growth prioritization by translating market, customer, and competitive insights into strategic implications and actions.
Ensure cross-functional alignment across marketing, sales, and business stakeholders.
Insights & Analytics Leadership
Drive the division’s insights excellence agenda and foster a data-informed culture.
Translate market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive dynamics into decisions and actions.
Lead a team of Industry Marketing Managers and Intelligence Analysts.
Ensure insights are turned into actionable industry marketing strategies, campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives.
Strategic Industry Marketing
Develop and drive divisional industry marketing strategies across priority verticals to support growth, differentiation, and market leadership.
Lead the division’s industry marketing agenda across key industries, ensuring alignment between priorities and commercial execution.
Translate customer needs, industry trends, and market dynamics into impactful positioning, value propositions, and growth initiatives.
Support cross-BU alignment around key industry opportunities, growth platforms, and priorities.
Drive prioritization and alignment of divisional industry marketing initiatives to ensure focus, scalability, and commercial impact across Business Units and Sales Companies.
Revenue & Growth Focus
Ensure marketing contributes directly to revenue growth, profitability, and key business KPIs through customer insight, market understanding, and business-oriented analysis.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market adjacencies, and growth areas across priority industries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate across the marketing organization to align industry strategies, customer engagement initiatives, and divisional priorities.
Lead and develop strategic industry marketing capabilities and insights across the division.
Who you are
Proven track record of turning market insights into measurable business impact and commercial growth.
Strong background in strategic marketing, market intelligence, business analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer insight.
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect strategic insight to commercial growth.
Experience in complex international B2B environments, preferably in industrial, food, pharma, process technology, or related industries.
Experience in management consulting and market intelligence is an advantage.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
Experience leading teams and working across diverse marketing and business functions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
What you know
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field.
8+ years of experience in strategic marketing, market intelligence, industry marketing, or related roles.
4+ years of leadership experience in a managerial capacity.
Analytical skills and proficiency with market intelligence and analytics methodologies.
Experience working in international matrix organizations with multiple stakeholders and business units.
Demonstrated success in international matrix organizations.
This position is preferably based at our Stockholm (Flemingsberg) office, though Alfa Laval office locations in Pune, Beijing, Lund, or Soborg may also be considered. The role includes an expected travel commitment of a couple of days per month.
