Who you are
We are seeking a Product Manager - Sustainability to join our Data, Analytics & Corporate Functions Value Stream, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering critical capabilities required to enable Alfa Laval’s Sustainability agenda.
You will bring a deep understanding of sustainability regulations, such as CSRD, CBAM and/or Digital Product Passport. With a strong foundation in product management, you will have the expertise to define clear product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s sustainability objectives and evolving regulatory requirements.
Your ability to collaborate across the organization will be key in orchestrating the portfolio of initiatives across the Value Streams, Corporate Functions and Business Units, driving alignment, prioritization and ensuring successful, pragmatic, value-based delivery.
About the job
As the Product Manager - Sustainability, you will be the charge of defining, strategizing, and executing the vision for sustainability-focused products across, most notably related to sustainability reporting and analytics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that sustainability initiatives align with both internal business goals and external regulatory standards, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other global sustainability frameworks.
Your responsibilities will include developing product roadmaps and ensuring successful delivery. You will also define and orchestrate the Portfolio of sustainability initiatives across the Value Streams, Corporate Functions and Business Units.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Vision:
Create and maintain product strategies, roadmaps, and backlogs for sustainability initiatives.
Translate business goals and regulatory requirements into product features and enhancements, ensuring that sustainability initiatives drive tangible value.
Stay informed of evolving sustainability regulations (e.g., CSRD) and ensure product roadmap alignment.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Engage with the Chief Sustainability Officer and other senior leadership to ensure product initiatives align with both business and regulatory goals.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Group Sustainability, Group Finance and Group Digital to define product requirements and align on priorities.
Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration of sustainability initiatives across business functions.
Product Development & Delivery:
Manage product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and compliance with sustainability regulations.
Collaborate with development teams to validate hypotheses, define product requirements, and deliver solutions on time and within budget.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance existing products or develop new solutions that align with sustainability goals.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Act as the key liaison between product development teams and business owners, ensuring alignment on sustainability and compliance objectives.
Experience:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, sustainability, business, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a product manager, product owner, or product analyst, specifically in sustainability-focused projects or within the data and analytics domain supporting sustainability initiatives.
In-depth understanding of sustainability regulations and practices, including CSRD, ESG frameworks, and relevant compliance standards, with proven experience in implementing these in product strategies.
Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
Nice to have certifications:
Relevant Product Owner/Product Manager certification.
Relevant certifications in the Sustainability area.
Skills:
Sustainability Expertise: Strong understanding of global sustainability frameworks and regulatory requirements, including CSRD and ESG standards.
Business Acumen: Ability to align product initiatives with the organization’s goals.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage and prioritize stakeholder needs, ensuring products meet both business and regulatory requirements.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying up-to-date with evolving regulations and best practices.
Excellent presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
