About the job:
We are looking for a results-driven Project Manager – Food Systems to lead the planning and execution of contract orders across all phases of capital projects. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality systems on time and within budget, while meeting customer and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, maintain strong customer relationships, and proactively manage risks, resources, and project deliverables. As part of the role, you will:
Plan, execute and finalize contract orders for Food Systems projects.
Review technical specifications to gain understanding of contract requirements.
Project Management for FEL2, FEL3, and Detailed Design/Delivery of Food Systems Projects.
Perform order clarification during sales/operations handover
meeting.
Lead project members to produce project deliverables and documentation necessary to meet customer requirements and schedule.
Plan and coordinate internal and external material orders with the supply and logistics teams.
Maintain document control and ensure drawings and calculations fulfill customer requirements.
Monitor progress of activities and time spent by resources on the project. Ensure contractual compliance and manage changes/deviations where necessary.
Evaluate and mitigate project risks. Coordinate meetings with customers and customer inspectors.
Ensure appropriate measures in place for the health and safety of team members during supplier and customer site visits.
Follow through with project closure to include project evaluation and communication of lessons learned.
Adhere to internal processes and procedures and assist with continuous improvement activities for all processes, procedures and systems.
Work closely with sales to ensure project financial targets are met and identify opportunities to increase revenue or enhance profit on projects.
Maintain order backlog and margin reports using the financial reporting tools. Coordinate claim activities through the claim support system.
Develop strong working relationships with customers and sales channels.
Travel, up to 30% to resolve site issues or meet with customers for kick-off meetings/progress/commissioning as needed.
What you know:
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Management or foreign equivalent, and:
3 years of Project Management experience with food processing equipment/systems for food & beverage industry.
30% travel in North America to resolve site issues. Support project globally if needed.
