We are looking for a Project QA/QC Engineer to support quality activities throughout the full project lifecycle, from kick-off to customer handover. You will be part of our Rauma-based project organization delivering systems globally to Power, Offshore and Cruise applications.

In this role, you ensure that project deliverables, materials, and construction/installation work meet internal quality requirements as well as customer, industry, and regulatory standards. You will work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams, as well as vendors and customers. The role also includes supervising external QA/QC inspectors and occasional domestic and international travel.

In your role you ensure that the solutions comply with Alfa Laval’s sustainability principles – including attention to energy efficiency, responsible use of resources, and low‑carbon operating practices – as well as the company’s aim to reduce environmental impact across the entire value chain. You promote a strong quality culture and contribute to improving QA/QC system documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Develop and maintain project quality plans, ITPs, and QA documentation.

  • Communicate quality requirements to internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Support vendor and subcontractor qualification and evaluation.

  • Participate in risk assessments and ensure quality risk mitigation.

  • Monitor compliance with procedures, standards, and regulations.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Plan and execute inspections on equipment, materials, fabrication, installation, and construction.

  • Perform visual, dimensional, welding, coating and material verification checks.

  • Review certificates, test records and traceability documentation.

  • Coordinate third‑party inspections and witness testing.

  • Report non‑conformities and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Work closely with customers, project teams, procurement and contractors to resolve quality issues.

  • Participate in project meetings and report on quality performance and risks.

Requirements

  • Technical degree (mechanical, electrical, process or similar).

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technical, engineering, manufacturing or construction environments.

  • Proven QA/QC experience in offshore, shipbuilding, power plants, process or industrial projects.

  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and project quality management.

  • Familiarity with inspection methods, material certification, welding, NDT and surface treatment.

  • Ability to read drawings, specifications and inspection records.

  • Good communication skills and fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Inspection certifications (welding, NDT, coating, pressure equipment).

  • Knowledge of EN, ASME, ISO, API or relevant industry standards.

  • Experience from EPC/EPCI or large industrial projects.

  • Understanding of safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.

Personal Attributes

  • Works effectively under pressure with a structured, solution‑oriented approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Customer‑focused, proactive and self‑motivated.

  • Willingness to travel when required.

What We Offer

A versatile and challenging role in an international company working on impactful technical projects. You will join an open and supportive team environment with strong development and career opportunities.
