About The Job
Responsible for defining, leading, and executing the Business Unit strategy across the South East Asia region to deliver sustainable profitable growth, market leadership, and customer value in line with Alfa Laval’s global strategy and values.
The role carries Sales Company's accountability for the SET Business Unit in SEA and is accountable for sales growth, margin, market development, operational excellence, and people leadership. The position leads a cross-functional organization and ensures strong collaboration with Sales Company, Global Business Unit functions, and key stakeholders.
Job Description
Business & Strategy Leadership
Define and execute the regional Business Unit strategy for SET in South East Asia, aligned with Alfa Laval’s global Business Unit and regional strategy.
Translate strategic priorities into clear business plans, targets, and initiatives, ensuring execution excellence across all SEA markets.
Drive portfolio positioning, market segmentation, and value-based selling strategies to strengthen competitiveness and customer relevance.
Identify and develop new growth opportunities, including new applications, industries, key accounts, and business models.
Financial & Performance Management
Hold pre-defined financial responsibility for the SET Business Unit in SEA, including revenue, gross margin, operating profit, and working capital.
Lead forecasting, budgeting, and financial follow-up, ensuring performance against agreed targets and early identification of risks and opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement in profitability, cost discipline, and capital efficiency.
Ensure compliance with Alfa Laval financial governance, policies, and internal controls.
Sales, Market & Customer Development
Drive sales performance and market development through close collaboration with Sales Companies, Key Account Managers, and Business Development teams.
Ensure strong execution of the Alfa Laval sales process, including lead generation, opportunity management, pricing, and tendering.
Build and maintain senior-level customer relationships, supporting strategic deals, key negotiations, and long-term partnerships.
Strengthen customer satisfaction, loyalty, and lifetime value through a strong value proposition and solution-oriented approach.
Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (Sales, Business Development, Application, Service, and Operations interfaces) to ensure seamless execution.
Act as the key interface between regional Sales Companies and the Global SET organization, ensuring alignment, transparency, and fast decision-making.
Support operational excellence by ensuring effective collaboration with supply, operations, service, and project execution teams.
Drive structured ways of working, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing management team, fully aligned with Alfa Laval’s leadership principles and values.
Set clear objectives, provide coaching, and ensure continuous competence development and succession planning.
Build a strong performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging work environment in line with Alfa Laval’s people and sustainability commitments.
Governance, Compliance & Sustainability
Ensure full compliance with Alfa Laval policies, ethical standards, and local regulations across all SEA markets.
Actively promote safety, sustainability, and responsible business practices in line with Alfa Laval’s sustainability agenda.
Represent the Business Unit internally and externally as a trusted leader and ambassador of Alfa Laval
What You Know
At least 10 years of dedicated experience in B2B capital equipment sales, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity leading diverse teams.
Proven track record of managing sales and operations across the SEA region.
Background in the Food & Beverage industry and an Engineering degree or technical experience would be an added advantage.
Ability to push for collaboration with a central organization and influence high-level global stakeholders.
A hands-on approach and willingness to visit customers directly and manage complex conflicts between internal teams and external clients.
Strong communicator with a high capability for people management and resolving internal team issues through decisive leadership.
