As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140‑year‑old start‑up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

Currently, this is an on-site opportunity located in Des Moines, IA.

As a part of the team, you will:

• Manage daily repair‑shop operations and provide hands‑on leadership on the shop floor

• Support Order & Shop Coordinators, Team Leads, and field representatives with technical and operational guidance

• Interpret engineering drawings, research repair history, and troubleshoot equipment issues

• Drive capacity planning, training development, and employee performance

• Ensure shop safety compliance, PPE usage, and completion of safety inspections

• Lead and participate in ALPS, 5S, and continuous‑improvement initiatives

• Manage job folders, shop records, vendor POs, and documentation accuracy

• Track employee utilization, support payroll/timekeeping, and reconcile shop supply accounts

• Provide technical support to customers and participate in site visits as needed

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and management teams to improve repair processes and turnaround times

"We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games."

What you know

You have an Associate's degree in an Engineering or equivalent experience, and:

• 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in repair, reconditioning, manufacturing, job‑shop, or service‑center environments

• Experience with Lean improvement tools (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen)

• Experience with MRP/ERP systems

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

• Strong understanding of machining and welding techniques

• Strong customer‑service orientation and communication skills

• Ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and perform under pressure

• Behaviors: teamwork, flexibility, initiative, sound judgment, integrity, and drive.
