Alfa Laval South Africa is looking for a passionate and eager Service Centre Technician I for Service Operation Division in the Middle East & Africa Based at Johannesburg.

Job Description

• Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment or machinery brought into a service center or at a customer site.
• Utilizing specialized tools and technical knowledge to identify issues, perform necessary repairs, and ensure proper functionality of the product while adhering to safety protocols and company standards. 
• Perform SC task- Rotating and Hex
• Insure proper housekeeping
• Be engaged in problem resolution in current tasks
• Insure training of the SC interns
• Ensure Service reports are completed and submitted
• Ensure the highest quality workmanship
• Execute repairs according to specifications or an advanced repair task.
• Validated equipment skills and/or able to evaluate and confirm repair/service requirements and repair/service quality, e.g. inspections, quality evaluation, testing, service reports.
• Share knowledge and support in competence development.
• Engaged in 5S, safety and quality and immediately call for service center management in case of problems/risks.
•  Minimize number of workshop hours.
• Develop and inform him/herself

Qualification & Experience

Experience:

General

• Knowledge of MS Office
• Crane operation
• Rigging
• Forklift
• Experience in rotating equipment

-Decanters

-High speed separator

-Pumps

• Knowledge of HSEQ regulations
• Experience in GPHE/Hex units
• Chemical safe handling
• Working on hights

Millwright

Experience in    - Electrical fault finding

• ABB VFD and soft starters
• on R&B control systems
• Panel fault finding
• Control system upgrade

Fitter and turner

Experience in

• MIG and Tig welding
• Balancing and operating of balancing machine
• Operating of manual lathe

Education and/certifications:

• Trade or Red seal in Millwright or Fitting and turning (min 3-5 years qualified)
• Driver’s license (min: 3-5 years qualified)
