About the job

Technical Service Coordinator

  • Chesapeake
  • Full time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job
As an integral member of the service operations team, you will play a critical role in driving customer satisfaction and technical service excellence in alignment with our core priorities: safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring seamless coordination of repair and reconditioning services across multiple product lines.

You will collaborate with a diverse group of internal stakeholders, including sales, inspection, shop floor teams, quality assurance, and leadership. Your role will be essential in maintaining service excellence, supporting continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of accountability and customer focus.

Currently, this is an on-site opportunity in Chesapeake, VA.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers regarding technical service and repair coordination.

  • Provide quotations, pre-estimates, and competitive bid documents for repair and reconditioning work.

  • Conduct contract reviews with sales and provide Scope of Supply documentation to order coordinators and shop teams.

  • Coordinate with inspection and shop teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple product lines.

  • Schedule and host customer visits and in-house testing, ensuring a professional and informative experience.

  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards by obtaining and managing required documentation.

  • Review and approve job orders for accuracy and readiness for invoicing.

  • Utilize internal systems (e.g., One4AL, BPCS, Jeeves, Installed Base, SALLY, CAS, TEAMS Center, SENSEIView, OPTO) to research equipment history and update service records.

  • Manage ACT Claims system entries and follow up on remedial actions in accordance with global standards.

  • Maintain and update databases for representatives, drawings, and supplies.

  • Positively contribute to ALPS (Advanced Lean Production System) initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Make customer site visits as needed to support ongoing business, provide technical support, and develop new opportunities.

What you know:

You have a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related technical field preferred), and:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical service coordination, repair operations, or a related field.

  • Strong technical understanding of industrial equipment and repair processes.

  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships and coordinate across cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with quoting, contract review, and job order processing.

  • Familiarity with EHS standards and documentation requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise systems such as BPCS, Jeeves, and related platforms.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a proactive, customer-focused mindset

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.
