About the job
As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in administering import and export compliance policies to ensure all international trade activities align with global regulations, customs requirements, and corporate policies. You will have the opportunity to exercise independent judgement to resolve customs discrepancies, mitigate compliance vulnerabilities, and identify corporate tariff-mitigation opportunities. contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.
Currently this is a hybrid role located either in Indianapolis, IN or Houston, TX.
As a part of the team, you will:
Conduct independent restricted party screening of end-users and new customers using e2open and trade management systems, evaluate potential matches and escalate high-risk findings.
Analyze product data to assist with Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and Schedule B determinations, maintaining the integrity of the corporate ECCN database.
Assist with the administration and renewal of critical government export licenses (ITAR, EAR, USML).
Serve as an authorized corporate point of contact to address inquiries from the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the Department of State.
Proactively investigate supply chain operations to uncover potential import/export compliance vulnerabilities, collaborate with the central legal division to design and deploy risk-mitigation strategies.
Manage and audit corporate recordkeeping frameworks across all US sites to guarantee absolute adherence to US customs and export control regulations.
Provide advisory support, training, and interpretive guidance to logistics, warehouse, sales, and purchasing teams regarding internation trade compliance best practices.
What you know:
You have a bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Business Administration, or similar with relevant experience, and:
Minimum of 2 years of direct experience with Trade Compliance (Export Compliance, Import Compliance or both)
Certification as a Certified Export Specialist (CES) or Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) preferred.
Familiarity with Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
Strong familiarity with Entry Summary (7501) analysis HTSUS structures, ECCN matrices, and trade compliance architectures (e.g., e2open, ACE).
Knowledge of tax
Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Strong leadership and communication skills
