About the job
As an integral member of our Operations Team, the Industrial Engineering Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting Project Managers, Production Team Managers, and our Manufacturing Engineer within a fast‑paced assembly and manufacturing environment. Your contributions will directly support the efficiency, quality, and overall success of our organization.

This is a role based in Richmond, VA.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Learn how to create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) by working alongside experienced team members to understand manufacturing workflows and documentation standards.

  • Develop skills in conducting time studies and identifying process improvements, gaining exposure to real‑world manufacturing efficiency tools and methodologies.

  • Build foundational project coordination experience, applying basic project management principles under the guidance of Project Managers and Operations leaders.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand how Production, Engineering, and Project Management work together in a manufacturing environment.

  • Receive hands‑on training in safe work practices, quality expectations, and operational ethics, learning how these principles guide daily decision‑making.

  • Strengthen your ability to take direction, manage priorities, and contribute to team goals, with support and coaching from experienced operations professionals.

What you know:

You are a rising college junior or senior with preference for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, and you bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a team environment.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.
