Role – Java Backend Developer Specialist

But now we want to be even better! We’re looking for Java Backend Developer for our Global IT Delivery Centre in India. We are already providing IT services and support to Alfa Laval companies around the world, and we are now expanding our operations to meet future demands.

Alfa Laval has invested in a ‘Global IT Delivery Centre’ in Pune with the vision to expand and deliver IT services as an extension to our global teams located in Sweden, Denmark and the USA. We focus on cost-effective solutions and improved performance to create a unique Alfa Laval experience!

Who are we looking for

Product configuration is a very important area for Alfa Laval, where many of our products are customized for a specific customer use case. During the coming years the product configuration platform will continue to evolve in multiple ways to provide the ability for multiple channels and services to let their users configure our products.

We are working in an agile environment where you will work in our Configurator framework development team together with our other experienced developers. Together you will design, develop and support the Alfa Laval product configuration platform which is central for our business.

Who are You

You are an experienced Senior Java Backend developer who is highly skilled in designing and implementing Java solutions in a web application context, including experience with Spring and Spring boot. This includes a strong track record of delivering solutions to complex problems, including use of Java concurrency, multithreading and caching.

We believe you are self-motivated team player with a positive and encouraging attitude. You have a problem-solving mindset and take pride in delivering with quality, from architecture to code.

You are a driven person who interact with your colleagues and that likes to share your knowledge to improve team performance and help others grow

Requirements and Responsibilities

What we need:

You will join our currently Sweden based team, working from Pune, India and play a key role in establishing our hybrid delivery model with a common team.

As part of this you will:

• Be a backend developer in the continued development of the configurator solution (together with other backend and frontend developers).

• Be part of design, development, improvements and maintenance of the Alfa Laval Product configurator and component setup.

• Support the rest of the technical team in the third line support of the running platform.

• Create and maintain necessary component, system, platform and operation documentation for global systems.

• Guide and support more junior developers when applicable

• You are comfortable with teams across different locations like Pune, Sweden, Bosnia and so on. Global exposure and cultural understanding is important to ease the collaboration and efficiency.

• You are used to collaborate closely within the team, towards other teams in the value stream and business stakeholder

• Our internal Agile delivery frameworks, workflows, and governance models.

• The configurator platform solution and the development process around it

• Opportunities to deepen your technical knowledge in areas of interest, as well as understand more of the broader Alfa Laval system landscape

What we expect:

Key technical skills

• Relevant technical education (Computer Science or equivalent)

• You have probably worked at least 8-10 years in Java development roles in various contexts.

• Proven record of designing and delivering Java solutions in a web application context.

• Proven experience in various contexts with Spring and Spring boot.

• Experience with solving complex problems, including use of Java concurrency, multithreading and caching.

• Hands on experience working with CI/CD pipelines, GIT, Maven and Tomcat.

• It is meriting if you have experiences with Azure cloud hosting as well as knowledge/experiences in relation any of the following: OAuth2, GraphQL, Azure pipelines or Elastic/Kibana.

Working time; CET Shift – 11:30 AM to 08:30 PM

Working Days; 5 days a week (3days WFO, 2 days WFH)
