Unit Manager Production

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping. As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too. We create better everyday conditions for people. We do this by contributing to a more sustainable future through engineering innovation. We love what we do and we’re good at it. But now we want to be even better! We’re looking for a Unit Manager for our production site in Ronneby.

So, what are you going to do today?

Alfa Laval in Ronneby operates in a global environment within the product group Brazed and Fusion Bonded Heat Exchangers. We supply these products worldwide with the right quality at a competitive price and according to agreed deadlines and deliveries. We are a process-oriented organization with a global focus and local presence. Alfa Laval always put safety and sustainability first. We work in line with Alfa Laval Production System (ALPS) following the four priorities Sustainability, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Are you a driven and people-oriented leader with a passion for operational excellence? We are now looking for a Unit Manager to join our management team in Ronneby and take responsibility for one of our key production units.

Who You Are

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong sense of urgency. You are results-driven, adaptable to change, and have a holistic mindset. You balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, guiding your Team Managers to lead daily operations effectively. You are not afraid to challenge the status quo and see opportunities where others see problems. Through your presence, support, and genuine interest in people, you help your team grow and succeed. If you are a confident leader who naturally engages, develops, and inspires others—this is the role for you.

About the Role

As Unit Manager, you will be a key member of the Ronneby management team, with direct leadership responsibility for three Team Managers and overall responsibility for a production unit of approximately 120 employees. Your mission is to ensure that the unit operates efficiently, meets its performance targets, and continuously improves in line with our processes and strategic goals.

You will be responsible for the overall performance for the unit, including production output, financial results, and customer satisfaction. Travel between Product Group BHE sites may be required based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop your team to ensure strong performance and engagement.
  • Set and follow up on targets derived from factory-level goals.
  • Ensure delivery on Sustainability, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (ALPS priorities).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities.
  • Coach Team Managers, Team Leaders, and Team Members to foster a culture of improvement.
  • Ensure standardized work practices and daily management routines.
  • Participate in the development of 12-month operational plans.
  • Lead and support projects to ensure delivery on objectives and year-over-year financial performance.
  • Contribute to new and existing product development (NPD and EPD).
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with ALPS standards.

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a global production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience with improvement tools such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Project management experience.
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English.

What’s in It for You?

We offer a challenging and rewarding position in an open and collaborative environment where we support each other’s development and success. Your leadership will have a direct impact on Alfa Laval’s future growth and innovation.
