Job Description for HR Business Partner

In this job the Human Resource Business Partner would be responsible for:

  • Plan and drive a people plan/HR and IR focus areas for the supported unit aligned with the business strategy and People Strategy.
  • Align Global HR Process 
  • Part of business unit / factory management team, contribute towards the strategic and people objectives for the organization.
  • Conduct talent reviews with leadership teams and create development plans for high-potential employees.
  • Maintain updated succession matrices and track progress of identified successors
  • Design and implement annual training calendars aligned with business priorities
  • Develop and maintain competency frameworks for key roles across levels and functions.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies on compensation, HR practices, and talent metrics against industry standards.
  • Support the performance management cycle – goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals
  • Design and implement engagement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure implementation of relevant Alfa Laval HR/IR processes, tools, and analytics.
  • Drive and advocate for a performance culture.
  • Union handling/ negotiation and implementation of Long-Term Wage Settlement.
  • Handling complaints, managing grievance procedures, and facilitating counselling in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • Investigating and resolving complex or critical industrial relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain training records and prepare reports for management review.
  • Support in data compilation, analysis of ratings, and generation of performance reports.
  • Ensure Statutory compliance, Handling External Local Government Authorities
  • Supporting operational activities for Business units of Alfa Laval India manufacturing plants at Pune Dapodi location.

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong experience in dealing with unions
  • In depth knowledge of employment legislations
  • Strong understanding of core HR processes and employment laws
  • Experience in training, competency mapping, and succession planning frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, HRIS, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
  • Exposure to Brown and Green field setups / projects
  • Strong individual personality with a proven ability to influence.
  • Experience and appreciation about manufacturing industries is a must

Education and Experience:

  • Post-Graduation / Masters in Business Administration or Personnel Management
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in Human Resources and minimum 7 years of proven work experience in the field of HR, Employee Relations, and Industrial Relations
