Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

As Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of Alfa Laval’s laboratory assets, including test rigs, laboratory equipment, and supporting utility systems. This is a hands-on position where your practical technical expertise will help us strengthen our in-house maintenance capabilities, improve equipment reliability, and reduce downtime.

You will work closely with a highly technical team, supporting daily laboratory operations while also contributing to the development of maintenance routines, procedures, and best practices. With a broad range of equipment and technical challenges, the role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work on both daily operations and long-term improvements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test rigs, laboratory equipment, and utility systems.

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to identify effective solutions.

  • Support the installation, modification, and commissioning of new and existing laboratory equipment.

  • Plan and document maintenance activities in the CMMS.

  • Improve preventive maintenance routines and contribute to maintenance procedures and best practices.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and availability.

  • Provide technical support to laboratory operations and collaborate with colleagues and external suppliers.

  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to building a proactive maintenance culture within the team.

Who are you

You are a practical and proactive problem solver who enjoys being close to the equipment and figuring out how things work. You use your technical judgement to assess situations, identify root causes, and take ownership of finding effective solutions. You work in a structured and reliable way, while staying open to improving routines and how things are done. At the same time, you are collaborative and communicate clearly, sharing your knowledge and working closely with colleagues to solve problems and keep operations running reliably.

What you know

To succeed in this role, you bring solid practical maintenance experience combined with the technical understanding needed to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve a broad range of equipment. We believe our ideal candidate has:

  • Several years of practical experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment support, ideally 5 years or more.

  • Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment.

  • Experience with the installation and modification of technical equipment.

  • Experience from industrial, laboratory, or production environments.

  • Technical education within maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

  • Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance software and documenting maintenance activities.

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly.

  • Fluent English, both spoken and written.

  • Swedish is highly desirable.
