About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Solution Architect to lead and support the development, optimization, and governance of Power BI solutions.

This is a hands-on role that combines architectural oversight with Power BI report development, focusing on monitoring and analyzing tenant Power BI usage to enhance efficiency, compliance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Architecture & Design: Design and implement robust Power BI solutions aligned with business and IT strategies. Architect and optimize data models, reporting structures, and visualizations to ensure scalability and maintainability.

• Report Development: Create advanced Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor tenant Power BI usage, including performance metrics, capacity utilization, and user activity. Ensure reports are user-friendly, actionable, and meet stakeholder requirements.

• Tenant Monitoring & Governance: Implement monitoring frameworks to track and analyze Power BI tenant usage, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and licensing compliance. Collaborate with other BI teams to enforce standards, best practices, and security protocols within the Power BI ecosystem.

• Data Integration & Transformation: Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI, leveraging Power Query, DAX, and other tools to prepare, transform, and model data. Identify and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the Power BI Service Team, business teams, and governance stakeholders to gather requirements and provide insights from usage reports. Offer guidance to users and developers on Power BI best practices.

• Capacity Management & Optimization: Monitor and optimize Power BI capacity and performance to align with organizational needs and budgetary constraints. Provide recommendations for scaling or adjusting resources as necessary.

About You

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive hands-on experience in Power BI development, including creating complex reports and dashboards.

• Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.

• Proven experience in architecting Power BI solutions and ensuring alignment with governance standards.

• Familiarity with Power BI admin features, including tenant settings, capacity planning, and licensing.

• Ability to work with large datasets and complex data transformations.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in Power BI governance and security, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation.

• Knowledge of Azure services related to Power BI, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL.

• Certifications in Power BI or Azure-related technologies.
